Really enjoyed the passion and colours on display at Euro 2024. I’ve equally loved being part of the UEFA FanTv team as Quality Control Producer and Director of the FanCam across 18 matches over the past few weeks.
Beyond The Horizon is taking shape.
There are so many emotional elements within this story that really shows the power of human connection. It’s a very special project.
My aim is for this documentary film to be finalised and ready for international festivals this autumn (UK).
Scheduling post production has been a challenge, mostly due to availability, but the wait will be worth it. Big steps are being made over the coming weeks with tracks composed by lo-if soul maestro Tomorrow’s Girl also due to feature.
Despite lots of work spread out across clients, this particular project (which has been 2.5 years in the making) is never far from my thoughts.
When the clock is ticking it helps to have a great team around you - together with the Giants Live crew we managed to turn around this tribute to Mark Felix who is retiring after over 20 years of being on our TV screens.
Filmed on Friday afternoon, edited into the early hours of Saturday morning, played to a sold out 10,000 crowd at Leeds Arena on the Saturday afternoon.
An extended version will appear on the Europe’s Strongest Man TV show on Channel 5 later in the year.
Charlie Delahunt on cameras. Jordan Tear on the keys. Thanks to all the contributors, especially Mark’s sons who speak for the first time ever on camera about their dad (Zoie working her magic to facilitate).
Thanks to Mark Felix too… it was an easy edit really as he means so much to so many that the words flowed from the contributors with such a high level of sincerity, to the extent the hardest part was knowing what to leave out for this short version.
The VT was a surprise to Mark and was played during a presentation in front of the 10,000 strong crowd. The first time I’ve seen him in tears… but he wasn’t the only one…!
Directed the Channel 5 shoot of Europe’s Strongest Man at a sell-out crowd this weekend, at Leeds Arena for the Giants Live team.
This will be episode 2 of the World’s Strongest Man series that will be broadcast later this year.
The edit is soon for this one, and was the most dramatic finale to an event we’ve seen in living memory.
Awesome working with Charlie Delahunt again on cameras and the entire Giants Crew.
After the Rio Open came Indian Wells for ATP Media. A solid 2 weeks showcasing the best action on the courts with an ace team.
Final Opener.

Loving how this year’s series has shaped up.
After an 8 week stint on the other side of the planet, I’m finally home…
What an adventure - the past few weeks having been spent with some insanely talented people. Jono Drew, Jay Law, Zoe, Joseph Veale… thank you…. and plenty more on the island Kingdom of Tonga.
Currently working for FIFA in Australia, on a great FIFA Women's World Cup. Last day of the group stage today... and had the pleasure of watching the England v Denmark game too! Incredible times...
NEW PROJECT - 'Beyond The Horizon' is a feature length documentary film that tells the emotional story of Zoe Stephens who was stranded in the Pacific for 531 days during the pandemic.
It's a story about the power of human connection, our relationship with animals and the environment, and over coming the odds.
And we are looking for people to be involved!

We plan on filming in August but have an ocean to swim with the production costs for this epic and emotional story.

A huge autumn and winter saw directing and producing duties for Giants Live, as the latest series was delivered to Channel 5 for their prime-time Christmas broadcast (which had record ratings for the brand, as 3 of the 5 episodes hit over 1 million viewers).
I closed out my tennis season with ATP Media as Edit-Producer on the Vienna 500 and as Edit-Lead at the Paris Masters in November.
Then it was time to head over to Doha for a 6 week stint as part of FIFA's Infotainment production at the FIFA World Cup, where 2 edit teams produced around 350-400 VTs for the in-stadia broadcast. A colossal effort by a great team!
Just about enough time to exhale before filming starts for the 2023 series of Giants Live, starting in Sheffield on 28th January.
Dark nights, warm skies, and record ratings. Autumn and winter were very busy with the final few tournaments of the season for ATP Media, delivering the last edits for a ratings record smashing Giants Live, and 6 weeks in the desert landscape of Doha for the FIFA World Cup working on the in-stadia broadcast. Above is the last VT that was produ...
Exceptional week working on the first Astana 500 for ATP Media, that had a field worthy of a Masters.
Djokovic won the final - the 90th ATP title of his career.
WINNING MACHINE!! 🏆
🇷🇸 Novak Djokovic storms to his 90th tour-level title, defeating Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4 in Astana 💥
Not ashamed to say I shed a tear or three at this news. Eddie was a true legend in sport's broadcasting, most notably with his BBC Rugby commentary. I spent many a Six-Nations match hooked on his brilliant words as I sipped on a tea (or beer) as the action unfolded.
I had the privilege of working with Eddie on 3 seasons of World's Strongest Man where he lent his iconic voice and uniquely rich tone to many an opener and plenty of VTs as well.
He could conjure up magical words that no one else could, and his ability to dig deep under the layers of a story to hit the right notes was nothing short of remarkable.
He will be hugely missed and I'll raise a tipple to him today.
Thoughts to his family and friends.
The World’s Strongest Man is saddened by the news that legendary commentator Eddie Butler has passed. We will forever be grateful to Eddie for giving his voice to a golden age of Strongman. Rest in strength.
It's been a busy few months with Producer and Director duties at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (Gravity Media for ITV & MasterCard), two stints directing Giants Live at The Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff with the subsequent edits for those episodes (for Channel 5), and two ATP Tour events at Halle and Montreal (for ATP Media) as well as developing a Cloud Forest Films documentary that goes into production in 2023 titled ‘Beyond the Horizon’.
Today we finish the Cardiff episode for Giants Live / Channel 5 that will TX this Christmas, which is looking really solid. In November I'll be dusting down my luggage from the loft as I'll head to Qatar working for FIFA at The World Cup for a month.
Lots of adventures ahead!

Worked as producer & director for Gravity Media last week. We produced content for Mastercard at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, telling the stories of incredible women in the motorsport realm and delivering important messages.
Check out more on the Goodwood social media channels.
Edit-Produced another Halle for ATP Media - one of the personal highlights of the week was witnessing home crowd hero Oscar Otte take on World Number One Daniil Medvedev in the semi final.
Immense fun as ever working for this team.
Aurora Media's 'The Academy' was a silver winner at The 43rd annual Telly Awards.
Made during the peak of lockdown, the 6-part series was a made with colossal contributions and co-operation across Europe and Asia. I took on a series producer / director roll for this and despite all the logistical and covid challenges, we delivered a really enjoyable, highly visual and eye opening series.
The silver award here follows on from the nomination at the Realscreen Awards a few months ago… so glad the project is picking up its due credit.
Thanks to the Aurora team and also Simon Cross who edited the series (often deep into the night).

Dogs... hundreds of them. And tv cameras. What could go wrong?
My tail (I don’t really have one) was wagging all weekend while working for Gravity Media as ENG producer & presenter producer during the mega 2 hour live broadcast that went out on ITV last Sunday.
