Breaking free from my usual photo~realism pictures! Phew! What a relief! Maybe this is an indicator of my new style, going forward?

Finished my apples part 2. I enjoy drawing the same picture twice because, in truth it‘s never the same and it’s great practice.

I‘m developing a passion for drawing apples……
More apples in the orchard coming along in this current work in progress. Do you prefer red or green apples to eat?
First effort at apples. I’ve learned alot from drawing this. I’m looking forward to drawing more apples🍎

This is my latest piece on the drawing board. ‘Apples’. I may do a whole series of apple drawings as I‘m enjoying this so much. I hope it looks good to you!
Current work in progress.
’Red Delicious’.
I‘m thinking of doing a series of food drawings.
Are there foods you'd particularly like to see?
I knew I had to do a Hilary 2. This piece really got to me and came from the heart. I wanted to get it right before I moved on to another drawing. This time the hands are as ‘right’ as I can make them. Tell me about hands….🤣🤣🤣aren't they the most weird of shapes when you study them and then try to draw them into reality?
This piece is teaching me so much about tone. What do you think of this piece please?

Here she is! I‘m calling her ‘Hilary’. I wanted to capture her passion for violin and music.
Work in Progress.
Choosing a completely different subject matter (portraits) from my usual subjects (wildlife and floral) is turning out to be liberating.

Foxy Loxy. An alert, foxy look!
I am intrigued by the way Hare is emerging from the black background! That’s why I love the Black Black paper so much. To me, this paper lends an air of mystery! Polychromos pencils on Fabriano Black Black A3 300gsm paper. Photo reference with permission Ecophoto.
I’ve enjoyed finishing this piece, ‘Pheasant’ and he’s come out better than I’d expected. I started this drawing nearly a year ago and didn’t finish it, until now! He’s been hanging around for so long….I think we’re both pleased it’s done!
He’s in a white frame with glass so there’s a bit of reflection in the photo here.

Totally surprised by this piece. My first floral effort with Polychromos and Carbothello Pastel pencils on Fabriano Black Black paper. I didn't know how it would work out and I’ll now give florals another go.
My own ref photo.
Work in Progress. Thought I‘d try something new🌺🌺
Mr. Fox. I’ve been amazed at how versatile Polychromos are on this Fabriano Black Black paper. They've allowed me to get a ‘wiry’ texture to the wily fox’s fur.
Photo ref w perpermission Isselee.
The pencils are starting to give me a great texture to this wily fox’s coat🦊
Next up on the board.....Mr. Fox.
I like to ring the changes in the animal subject I choose, so from horses to fox🦊
Pheasant, pigs and hare are all lined up too🖼
Entered an art competition with this piece, Cat’s Eye.
I got this finished with help from listening to Barry Manilow songs. I’m calling him Barry, obvs!
I’m enjoying getting an oily finish with Polychromos pencils. It gives texture and a shine in places.

This boy is starting to arrive on the page🌟🎉🌟🎉
Work in progress. I just have the muzzle to do.
Love this boy🌈 Made up new techniques with my pencils during this piece. Fabriano paper is very versatile.

Are you trying something new in art or anything else at the mo?
Though this camera angle doesn’t ‘float my boat’, the cat’s eye does, so I’ve cropped the reference photo so that I can focus on the whole point of the piece...... the beautiful cat’s eye that I fell in love with😺

I’ve started this little fella again as I wasn‘t happy with his lower face before🌈 Here goes🌟🌈🌟
This pussycat’s eye really is this big!😺

Keeping myself busy with my version of a ‘jigsaw~like puzzle’ with coloured pencils in the top of this picture, in between working on my cat’s eyes project😺😺 I’m finding it easier to go to the ‘jigsaw puzzle’ rather than straight from cat’s eye to cat’s eye.

Another kitty on the drawing board. Work in progress.
It’s the eyes that capture my imagination and hopefully yours🌟🌈
I‘m working towards having an art exhibition next year.....🖼🌈🖼🌈🖼🌈🖼 I‘m featuring the black/white, animal face close~up with touches of colour. I‘m already looking for ideas for an exhibition title👀 Any ideas at all?
Here are the pics I have ready so far and I‘m aiming at having at least 20 to exhibit🖼🌟🖼🌟🖼
I’m looking for a name for my latest piece. Any ideas please?
Don’t you just love cat’s eyes?
