Lola wears her backpack on almost every walk we take. It provides her with a job, slows her down a bit and helps her burn more energy. πŸ”₯

I continuously strive to practice what I preach but as it has been said "we teach what we need to learn". The truth is, allowing your dog on your bed is like allowing them to sit on your throne. For some dogs, like my Lola, this simple act can throw off the hierarchy of your household leading to other behavioral issues. Always keep this in mind if your dog is displaying undesired behaviors.

A bike can be an amazing tool in rehabilitating a reactive dog. Reactivity is typically cause by over excitement, insecurity, protectiveness and/or hyperactivity. Curing reactivity is extremely important! If left unchecked, reactivity can lead to agression or severe anxiety. Isolating a reactive dog is not the answer! As owners we MUST face our fears and treat these issues before they get out of hand. Dogs are social creatures and deserve to live balanced lives.

Whether your dog is reactive to people, other dogs, cats, squirrels, ect. A 15 minute bike ride can help reduce this unhealthy behavior drastically and here are a few reasons why;
β€’ It is much easier to maintain the leadership position on a bike.
β€’ it desensitizes them to their triggers without allowing much time to fixate on their target.
β€’ it drains pent up energy fast and effectively.

I know first hand what it is like to live with a reactive dog and can help you if you are feeling overwhelmed or discouraged. πŸ’›
