Arlington Police Officer To Ride In Pan Mass Challenge For First Time Salena Zona will be joining the team Arlington Angels to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The fundraising for the 2021 PMC Arlington Angels has officially ended as of October 1. We wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of the hundreds of donors, friends, families, neighbors, colleagues and businesses that have supported our cause. Your genorosity has us allowed to collectively raise over $166,000 smashing our goal of $100,000. We're looking forward to the 2022 ride to continue this effort and do our part to support research at the DFCI. Thank you from all of the Arlington Angels.

We are riding this year with a team, called the “Arlington Angels” who are collectively honoring the young lives of Patrick Doherty, Matthew Griffin and Catherine Malatesta. Three young Arlington natives, all students, all athletes and all taken from us at far too young an age. We hope that you can contribute to our ride for this important and meaningful cause.

Team members include Mary Doherty, Dan Doherty, Steve Mansfield, Tricia Verrier, Robert Kelley, Mark Lombard, Mike Hogan, Dennis Mahoney and Laura Mei as we ride from Wellesley to Provincetown in our pursuit to Belt Out cancer.

We're proud supporters of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. Since 2007, 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer.

Raising money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is the core of the PMC mission. Since 1980, the PMC has contributed $654 million, which finances research in its earliest stages. Known as seed money, PMC funds enable clinicians and scientists to pursue innovative research that has the potential to achieve the results that will warrant National Institutes of Health (NIH), or other private and government grants. In so many cases, this early support has fostered the development of some of the most important advances made in cancer research.
