This week's free craft for the Little Free Library is two different scavenger hunts!
The first is for younger kids, and is a nature scavenger hunt attached to a paper bag. It has a check list of items that children can find on your family's walk around the neighborhood. Kids can enjoy experiencing nature and collecting it in their bags. You can even take it a step further and press a flower or leaf when you get home!
The second is for older kids and kids at heart. It is a photo scavenger hunt. Have fun finding things as a family, break into teams, or even challenge someone as you find things in your walk around the block.
Get exercise and have fun!

This week's FREE craft at our Little Free Library is Paper Chain Snakes.

Here are the instructions:
1. Decorate one side of each paper strip using your medium of choice. Ex. Marker, crayon, stickers.
Leave one strip blank, this will be the head.

2. Make a chain out of the six decorated strips by making a loop and either stapling, taping, or gluing the overlapped ends together.
Once the first loop is formed, you will create the subsequent loops by threading the next paper strip through the previous loop then connecting it, until you have a finished chain of six.

3. Make a loop out of the blank strip and connect it to one side of the chain vertically. Stapling ther inside of this loop to the previous is the easiest way to attach. (See picture for how it should look.)

4. Cut forked tongue out of red and attach to face. Stick googly eyes on face.

5. Cut rattle out of yellow and attach to rear loop.

Slither around with your snake, you did it!

5. Aim open end at target, pull back balloon stem, release and irritate everyone in your house with shooting pom poms all over.

During this difficult time, we are going to try something new. Once a week, we will be putting bags of crafts in the Little Free Library for families to take home and do together! Feel free to post your completed projects here!

Our family decided that we wanted to establish a Little Free Library at our home in memory of one of our children's friends, Mya. She made a major impact on our lives with her smile and warmth. We wanted a way to memorialize her that would give back to the community and that would celebrate these attributes. At a Little Free Library is perfect.
