Happy (technically Chinese) New Year! The 2023 year of the rabbit is ushering in 2024 the year of the dragon! 🐉 since the beginning of January my life has been flipped upside down and right side up about a dozen times and I’ve been doing my best to get my bearings. I’ve been making a lot of art privately because I’m trying to decipher my feelings and how to correctly display them-not that it’s any of your business. But I’m hoping to make a lot of cool stuff this year and start on a bunch of new projects that I’m excited to share with you all! It’s sunny and 50 degrees today here in Chicago so I’m taking that as a good omen!

I have a confession to make. I can’t hide it anymore. I’ve been really getting into painting 😬 I started making this portrait for my cat’s birthday like several months ago but couldn’t match his vibe so I had to restart. This isn’t the most intricate painting I’ve done but still-the fact that I’ve been casually picking up a paint brush everyday for the past month I’m literally insane to me. More paintings to come! Yay! I can finally post this! I kept it hidden because it was a gift for a friend who I didn’t see for like EVER!!!! I’ve been super stoked on 1.) black backgrounds because it makes every color pop 2.) shoving as many items in a single drawing that I can-because who cares about narratives.

I’ve been super flustered and have completely lost my train of thought with drawing and painting. I decided to give my brain a rest and make this little guy for the spring/Easter season. He originally had arms but they were freakishly long-I like how chubby and plump he is :3💕

I’m a textiles girly now btw. My favorite jacket that I got when I first moved to Chicago. It was from Forever 21 and 30$ which was a lot for me at the time but I bought it because it was fluffy and the same color/fabric as my favorite blankie. It got so ratty but I’m a sentimental FREAK and couldn’t get rid of it so I decided to turn it into a cuddly friend 💕
