I know we live in a day and time where we are suppose to celebrate ourselves and our personal achievements. But tandaworldproductions is more about legacy for me.

I was blessed to know all my grandparents on both sides well. I just regret I didn't get a chance to record their stories, to hear their voices. 😢.

My maternal grandmother wanted to be nurse. She was a teenager mother and dropped out of high school...however she went back and finished after she had my mom. She didn't get to be nurse but an entrepreneur owning her own general store for DECADES with her husband. She was alway stylish and her favorite color was red.

She raised 7 children and was loved dearly. As matter of fact, that was the name all her grandkids called her..."Dear". She was always classy but yet so fun to be around! She pushed all her grandkids to "go to school and go as far as you can go"

I said all the above to point out that although she won't see her fruit in the natural...I hope she is proud of her branches ❤

When we began thinking of how we can start a company we immediately felt like...whoa! This is too hard, how are we going to do this?? We reached out to many who were already working in this space and we got not one person who wanted to work with us. We immediately knew, we had to do it oursleves. As we took one step, God took three. Although we want to see the final product now...we find joy in process and reflect on the progress...

When starting anything new it can be challenging, exciting, frustrating all wrapped up into one!! Find joy in the process and reflect on the progress.

Today we want to give you few details on the creator of TANDAWORLD.....

April or as her close friends call her Ape, has been performing for a loooonngg time. Church, School, Easter Programs, Funerals, Weddings etc...she has done it ALL!! AND Although she attended the Greatest University of All Time ( 🗣 Roll Tide) she did not know what she wanted to do. After years of trying different careers she finally decided to take a leap and pursue a performance career...HOWEVER...

Nobody told her that there aren't many roles for 30+ actresses with little to no experience.

Nobody told her that out of those roles she was eligible for that they weren't for black women.

Nobody told her she would hear ALOT of No's.....

BUT ...( thank God for the coordination conjunction 🙌🏿) she knew that if she can dream it then it must be possible....that Dream said..."work with the people around you...work ovetime and extra jobs to fund your dream...shoot your shot and get some mentorship..." and here we are!!

TANDAWORLD was created to bring digital content to the masses from the point of view of the southern black woman. Our mission is to create a space for other creatives to have their ideas expose to broader audience.
