Thing 4 I made this year plus a bonus thing 6! Where is thing 5? Well I haven’t taken a pic yet so you’ll just have to be patient.
Thing 4 is a hat for my son. The top bit is in harvest and the brim ear flap bit is in lapin. I made this thing up as I went. I wanted to try knitting a hat flat but since I don’t swatch or plan or think it came out too small. So I added the fur bits and it’s perfect.
Thing 6 is two blueberries knit from leftovers of . I intend to make all kinds of food as play food for my son. Or that’s what I’ll say out loud anyway. I’m really making it because it’s super cute and lots of fun.

Messing around with making my own stitch markers. I got a huge pack of those plastic locking stitch markers a few years ago. To be honest, I never saw the point of the cute markers. They’ve always been about function. Well, at last years in I got a couple lovely ones including the one in the second picture, which I got from . Well, dang if I don’t use that sweet little turtle marker every chance I get ☺️. Anyway, it looked like something I could manage to put together so today I got some supplies and gave it a go! What new things have you been trying?

Project #2 baby lost his mittens. Still wondering if straight up making another pair was a better solution than looking for the lost mitten 🤷🏻‍♀️ oh well. He didn’t wear those, he won’t wear these but he possesses mittens now so I’ve done my part 😂yarn is in classic wool.

Project #3 for the year. I started this hat sometime last year as something to work when I needed something totally mindless. Come January I just wanted it done which is no good because now it’s not as long as it really should be for coziness. Will I fix it? No. It fits and it’s warm. The navy blue yarn is in the gray lining bit around the ears is chickadee. Both parts were knit on size 4 needles. I messed around with adding fur yarn to line this one but it was too much difference in yarn thickness. I tore out the fur and added this simpler liner.

My fourth thingy of the year. I made this hat out of . I made the hat in 2020 for my son alone with a few others. This one fits him right now and he is into turtles so I thought I’d try a duplicate stitch turtle. He still won’t keep the hat on but it’s super cute 😂. 🐢

test knitted for .stitchery! Yarn is classic wool worsted. I had originally bought it to make his baby blanket and as you can see we are rapidly leaving behind the baby stage. I never finished the blanket but I’m loving this sweater. The pattern is straightforward and easy to follow, the designer is lovely to work with and I just love a nice gray wool!

When your top down raglan sweater goes from a random circle to something that resembles a sweater 😊 such a nice feeling. Also check out that classy cable that’s going to run down the sleeve! This is the sweater by .stitchery I’m so excited to be test knitting it for my little one! Yarn is and the lovely little beaded turtle stitch marker is from
