Malfunction is out now! We are very excited to share it with you guys and hear your thoughts about it.
It took a little while to release the material and meanwhile our friendship was growing more and more. We traveled to Poland together, played gigs together with other projects and we feel it is the perfect time to create new songs in the future and manifest our special relationship in music.

Syt-Amar: formed the same way like many other bands of which some survived and a lot disappeared over the years… in a rehearsal room at the conservatory, initiated by a course named ‚Band Coaching‘. This kind of story is almost as horrible as telling someone, that you met your partner via tinder. Well, maybe not that bad if you get some more details…
Before we decided to compose and improvise together we were living in a shared flat for 2 years. Starting from totally different music styles somehow we inspired each other with the constant change and growth one experiences during conservatory studies. Probably one of the most important years for becoming musicians. None of us could ever really fit in a specific genre and all three were constantly searching for the music we want to play (familiar problem, right?).
With the start of our formation it was a main goal to create something, regardless if it fits a certain style/image or not. Some people gave us feedback that this is probably the most ‚non f*cks given‘ release they ever heard from us. Quite a compliment (at least for us). This was probably the main reason to continue with the project. Because we all feel the same way of ‚we can give no f*cks and not be judged but appreciated for it by the other musicians.’
After time passed, we grew older, wiser and more serious and decided to throw out the stuff that is odd, but it was an important part of our process and still there is some of it left in our live performance.

Wait… Something is wrong here ?!
Our new Project is kicking off tomorrow with the first single ‚Eos‘!
We are very excited to share the music that we created while also growing a wonderful friendship.
Together with our first single we will also release a visual video…aaaand even more is coming: On the 9th of December we are going to drop our first EP! So, stay tuned for a lot of upcoming music.

Maja Prill is a Violinist and Composer based in Wuppertal (DE) and Arnhem (NE), where she graduated at ArtEZ conservatory. She is active in improvised and experimental music, as well as Jazz oriented crossover genres. Besides her music projects she is working in interdisciplinary fields with theaters, visual artists and dancers, where she is constantly developing ways of communication through art.
