Hello players!

We are happy to announce the Starting Conditions for the 2024 UMBC HvZ Invitational! The starting conditions are as follows:

>May start with any blaster type (electric, non-electric, etc)
>May only be loaded to a maximum of 6 pieces of ammo
>There will be a single unlock to gain full access to all legal equipment

FAQ:
"Can I use a blaster that has a higher capacity than 6, just loaded with only 6 pieces of ammo?"
>Yes! For example, feel free to use a blaster with a magazine that can hold a maximum of 18 darts. However, you may only load 6 darts in this blaster.
"Can I carry blasters that are loaded with more than 6 pieces of ammo, to prepare for the unlock?"
>Yes! You are free to carry equipment that is loaded with more than 6 pieces of ammo. Under no circumstances are you to use this equipment prior to the unlock.
"How can we earn full unlocks? Will we earn full unlocks after completing mission 1?"
>This information will be revealed as we get closer to the invitational. Stay tuned!

Welcome back for another Mondays!

Meet David (he/him)! David is the UMBC HvZ Club President, boasting four years of playing experience, some 200 one night missions, 10 day game/invitational games, and12 weeklongs!

David will be a referee at the Maryland Foam Tournament, modding the HvZ Invitational, and hopefully playing at 11th hour if he doesn't collapse! He's excited to create another fun experience for nerfers far and wide and see another large scale game of HvZ be played on UMBC campus!

Fun fact: David will typically either start a game as a zombie, or as a human with a hammershot.

Meet Gutzie (They/Them) - Gutzie boasts 11 years with UMBC HvZ as a player and moderator, two years as a club officer, and they've helped run every UMBC HvZ invitational game since 2015! (Not to mention a lil' casual PvP on the side)

Gutzie will be joining us moderating the HvZ event, and playing the 11th Hour event. While all of the events are fun and exciting, the HvZ will always be their favorite part. They love sharing the game that they love so much with others!

Do you have any medical or first aid experience? Do you enjoy helping others in need? Do you want to help foster a fun and safe game of Humans vs Zombies?

Consider applying for our "Medic" position for the UMBC HvZ Invitational! Medics are chosen players who have been trained to deal with emergency medical situations. Our medics will be marked with a blue armband in addition to their orange player bandanna. Medics will help assist the core moderator team when severe injuries arise.

Back at it with another Monday!

Meet Charlie (They/Them) - Charlie has 2.5 years of playing at UMBC, and is currently the UMBC HvZ Public Relations officer. Last year they graced us with their presences as the Monarch of Mayhem in UMBC's HvZ invitational. They've also participated in Endwar once and attended one PvP event.

Charlie will will be a group moderator in the UMBC HvZ Invitational and is looking forward to once again get in character and bring our players into the wild, wild West for some HvZ action!

Here we are again for another

Meet Seth Ramsland - Over the past 2 and a half years, he's been to 5 large HvZ events at a variety of places, including UMBC, PASF, RIT, and Binghamton. He's also played and moderated countless one-nights, and several weeklongs at UMBC. He looks forwards to going to more invitationals in the future and continuing to experience more of various flavors of HvZ.

Seth will be a moderator of the UMBC HvZ event. In addition, assuming his legs still work, he'll be joining 11th hour with his trusty sledgefire. Something you should know about Seth - he usually starts OZ at invitationals., and encourages others to start OZ at an invitational at some point, whether it be this one or a different one. "Beyond potentially being a lot of fun, it will grant you some insight into the game that you can't easily learn as a human or late zombie."
