Dr. Lawrence Charles "Larry" Green, son of Dr. Charles E. and Jennie Ellen (Sullivan) Green, was born October 23, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dr. Charles and Jennie Ellen (Sullivan) Green. He was the oldest son of five children.

In the mid-1940s, the family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, where Larry attended public school and played football for Lawton High School. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and then the University of Oklahoma Medical School, where he earned his MD in June 1969. After medical school, Larry took an internship at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He also served in the National Guard.

In 1970, Larry established Green Medical Clinic in Arkansas City, Kansas. He continued to serve his clients in private practice for more than two decades while raising three children and commuting from Wichita, Kansas (where the family had moved). He then practiced as an ER doctor in Nebraska and Oklahoma for several years.

Larry was a great fan of luxury and fast cars. He was an owner and driver for Larry Green/Bauer Racing, competing in many Trans-Am races in the late 1970s and 1980s. He also loved travel, classic movies and Oklahoma and Nebraska college football.

Larry passed away on March 15, 2024, less than a year after his second wife, Sharon, whom he loved dearly, passed away. His sister Ann-Mary (Green) David passed away in 1984. He is lovingly survived by his three children, 11 grandchildren and three sisters.

Jewell Angela Roark (1943-2023) - Find a Grave... 26/03/2024

Hello 1961 Classmates. About two months ago, I called Angela Roark and found her phone had been disconnected. Not a good sign. I didn't have any success looking on the internet, but today, unfortunately, I did. Angela passed away a year ago this month.

I'm glad I talked with her prior to our 61st reunion because she gave me a quote in the Reunion Booklet--Angela Roark was in the first class that graduated from Tomlinson. She said that she liked going to Tomlinson because it was a nice, new school, and she was glad to get to go there because it was closer to her home.

So far I haven't found an obituary, but I "put" together some details and made her a Find A Grave memorial page. Rest in peace, Angela.

Jewell Angela Roark (1943-2023) - Find a Grave... Jewell Angela Roark was known as Angela through most of her school years. At Lawton High School, she participated in National Honor Society, Future Doctors of America, and Mixed Chorus. She was the daughter of Charles Harlan Roark II and Jewell Marie (Presson) Roark. She had a degree in geology and....

Glenn Alan Meadows (1943-2022) - Find a Grave... 08/11/2023

I remember talking with Robert Hinman at the 55th class reunion about Alan Meadows who attended Lincoln Elementary School with several of us and then through the eighth grade at CJHS. Maybe he ended up at Tomlinson in the ninth grade.??? Alan was a nice boy, and we wondered what happened to him. He was difficult to find because he went by his middle name.

Albert Sidney "Sid" Johnson, III passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 27, 2023, after a short illness. Sid was born April 3, 1943, in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of CSM Albert S. Johnson, Jr. and Mary (Williams) Johnson. As an Army "brat," Sid lived many places growing up, graduating from Lawton (OK) High School in 1961.

He fulfilled his patriotic duty by working for the DOD wearing an Air Force uniform. Returning to Jackson, Sid attended Millsaps College where he received a degree in English Literature. Later, classes at Emory University earned him a Master's in history. Sid was an ordained Methodist minister with a small charge of country churches in central Mississippi.

Coming to Dallas about 1969, he was a talented traveling salesman for several companies. Sid also did Electrolux sales in Little Rock in the mid-70s and worked in the oilfield for Mitchell in Bridgeport before returning to Dallas about 1982. As a salesman for gift wrapping accessories, he met Carla at Dallas Market. Asking her out in 1985 led to the beginning of a 38-year relationship and Sid's moving to Weatherford. Always the traveler, the two of them enjoyed trips around the Southwest and even a trip to Acapulco that Sid won in a sales contest. After he and Carla married, he owned and operated College Park Pack and Mail from 1992 - 2014.

A political ju**ie, Sid immersed himself in local politics. He educated himself about every aspect of this city's operation, including minute details that escape many. He ran for City Council twice. While never winning a seat, no one can dispute his sincerity or passion for transparency in local government. In the last few years, Sid dealt with physical issues that limited the travel he loved. An interesting childhood, various jobs and settling down for the first and only time in Weatherford, Sid will be remembered and missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Hollingsworth; his son and wife, Albert Sidney Johnson IV and Amy Hoffmann of New Orleans; his daughter, Kimberly Kay Hendrix of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Christopher James Eisaman and wife, Mearah Macasero of Albuquerque; Chyanne Renee Eisaman and fiance, Denver Martinez of Topeka; Alexander Sidney Johnson and Sharon Lindsey Johnson of New Orleans. Sid is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Andrew Christopher and Liliana Kay Eisaman; his brother, Barry Johnson and wife, Linda of Garland; and his mother-in-law, Roberta Jones Furman of Weatherford.

Visitation will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard on Friday, August 4 from 5 - 7 pm. Sid's funeral service will be held Saturday, August 5 at 2:00 pm. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Sanger Cemetery.

WOULD THIS HAVE BEEN A "FREE" DAY FOR US BACK IN 1960-1961? LHS students, faculty, parents, etc., were notified sometime Sunday that the building had no power or water. Maintenance began working on it, but it would not be repaired by the start of school on Monday morning.

All classes shifted to Remote Learning for Monday, Aug. 14, and are still in that process as of today, Wednesday, Aug. 16. Students were to check their Google Classroom for instructions. Those who could not make it to the Life Ready Center (Tomlinson) or Great Plains Technical Center for classes will be excused for the day.
