A big shout out to everyone who was involved in helping us deliver 80 Christmas Eve meals to students and their families. Suzanna and I are so very proud of the staff at Sassella who worked their butts off getting these meals together. And special thanks to our own Dave Caldwell who came as Santa. After delivering LCC meals we then made a delivery to the Covid 19 Unit at Christus St. Vincent. So in all we delivered 104 meals yesterday.

Thank you so much for the incredible Thanksgiving meal Las Campanas Compadres provided to us from Sassella!

Although Nicole had been looking forward to Thanksgiving, since it was just going to be the two of us this year, I was not planning to make a special meal. So we were both excited to receive your very thoughtful and generous offer. You turned Nicole’s Thanksgiving into the memorable celebration that it’s meant to be, and the meal was incredible! The turkey was the most moist and flavorful I’ve ever had and Nicole actually asked for more vegetables, which is unheard of. We are both looking forward to enjoying a delicious lunch today and more throughout the weekend.

We are thankful for both of you and for the board members, staff and volunteers of Las Campanas Compadres. You have all shown us so much kindness and support and it has been incredibly uplifting for us. Like everyone, Nicole has had a tough year. School has always been difficult for her, and online is even more so. She told me she can’t understand what is being asked of her by her teachers. Nicole has been feeling down about being isolated from other kids, and then losing her grandma this summer, so anything that can redirect her attention and put a smile on her face is greatly appreciated!

Thank you again for making our Thanksgiving so special. We hope you all have a peaceful and healthy holiday season, and look forward to a time when we can gather together again and return to our normal lives 🙏.
