No words can adequately express the deep sadness JHU Cheer feels for the black community. We condemn the intolerable racism and/or police brutality that led to the premature deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Tony McDade and the deaths of suffering of countless others. We understand that our black teammates and the greater black community are hurting and have been hurting for a long time. We also recognize that the protests happening worldwide are part of a bigger revolution. Black and brown people in the United States have always endured discrimination, and this discrimination is not and should never have been acceptable. We stand by the black community as they fight for the justice that they deserve. We encourage you all do to the same! See the link in our Instagram bio for a list of resources you can visit to take action.
