This quote is so true. Fear is the reason why I didn't move forward with homeschool this current school year.

Aloha, my name is Rose Tataipu👋
I'm a SAHM mama of 4 young kiddos ages 1-7, and a long-term caregiver for a loved one. My husband works full-time, and we live in beautiful, expensive 😅 Hawaii. Currently, I have 3 of my 4 children enrolled in public and private schools this school year. Last school year, I homeschooled my oldest for her Kindergarten year, and it was GREAT!

Last summer was wrapping up, and I caved into my insecurity that my children can build better social relationships in school instead of homeschool. I'm still new to homeschooling, and there aren't many other families who homeschool where I live. I also have been working on a side gig to help with the bills, and then supplies for my homeschool. So I promised myself that by the end of this school year, my side gig would be profitable enough to fulfill my goals mentioned above.

Life has thrown challenge after challenge to hedge up my way, but I'm still pressing forward. I'm sure there are many challenges that you face on your homeschool journey. When times get rough, I remember the reasons why I know homeschool is right for my family.

Reason #1: God has called me to homeschool. When I sent my 3 kiddos to school, I admit that it has been nice to only have to worry about my baby for several hours out of the day. Yet, after the first round of missing school to COVID, the impression came clear and strong that I should be homeschooling my children.

Reason #2: I've always had a strong desire to be my children's best teacher. I believe that a child's first and longest teacher are his/her parents. I know that I have a lot to improve on to be a homeschool teacher. I will do my very best, and the rest I leave in God's hands.

Reason #3: I want freedom to teach my kids what I believe they need, when they need it, and wherever I choose to teach them. Although school offers many great opportunities, I truly believe that I can custom develop educational experiences that best fit my children.
