Hi, I’m coming to you here on a Monday to say something that has been whirling around in my head. I thought, if I am feeling this, surely others are too! I recently read an article about how we are right on schedule for the 100-year “extinction panic”… no, I am not making this up! The cliff notes of the article are this: something about humanity’s pattern of spiraling back to doom loops when we approach tectonic shifts that inevitably change history. Humanity went through this 100 years ago, in the 1920s, on the heels of a pandemic, a world war, technological innovations poised to change the world, and the birth of the bomb; the world was on the edge of itself for its time. It does feel like we are living in one of those times now. I get it. I look around and see, hear, and feel the anxiety and the uncertainty. For those of us who feel before we see, it’s easy to sense the spiral inching ever closer. When I feel like this, the only thing I want to do is go outside and feel the ground, smell the trees, let nature do what it does best and heal my human wounds. Nature reminds me of the only truth that we can guarantee: change is the one constant and we can never escape that. Ever. When you’re up, it changes. When you’re down, it passes. And on we go. Cultivating presence in this moment, with the circumstances that we have right now, is forever worthy of our energy. Devoting my life to witnessing the natural world has taught me many, many things, and this one might be my most favorite, the one I carry with me everywhere and apply to everything. Today, I hope that you can feel the abundant hope and the joy that is coming. The world is changing and we are changing with it; it will be different, perhaps unrecognizable, but we will have just as much of an opportunity to live in alignment, live in truth, and live in love if we choose to. Our anticipated whole-plant-organic Hydration Compound! I am eager to share with you the inspiration behind this new product and all that goes into each batch. This product is the most complex we have ever tackled at our Petaluma apothecary-lab. Therefore, batch sizes are limited and we are unable to offer this product year-round.
