Vani Vilasa Sagara was built by the Mysore Maharajas pre-independence across the river Vedavathi which is the oldest dam in the state. The dam is an exquisite piece of architecture, an engineering marvel for that time. The dam irrigates a large area of the Deccan region of Central Karnataka, which is otherwise largely a dry land.

Yana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara ("Shikhara" means "hill" ).

Yana is a village located in forests of the Kumta and Sirsi Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, India which is known for the unusual karst rock formations. It is located in the Sahyadri mountain range of the Western Ghats, about 60 kilometres from Karwar port, 39 kilometres from Sirsi, and 31 kilometres from Kumta.
At the Yana caves, limestone rock formations and black karst structures can be seen. The two unique rocks located in the area are Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara that are 120 and 90 meters high, respectively. These rocks attract numerous tourists to this beautiful location. Bhairaveshwara Shikhara embodies self-manifested Shiva lingam and the Mohini Shikhara has an idol of goddess Parvati inside it.
Talakaveri or Talacauvery is the place that is generally considered to be the source of the river Kaveri and a holy place for many Hindus. It is located on Brahmagiri hills near Bhagamandala in Kodagu district, Karnataka State. It is located close to the border with Kasaragod district. Shri Veeranarayana Temple, Belavadi ~ Belavadi is situated 10 km north-west of Halebid, the capital of the Hoysalas who ruled the major part of southern Karnataka between 11th-14th century AD.
● According to legends, the village was the Ekachakra-nagar of the Mahabharata times, where Bhima is said to have slain Bakasura.
● This is a trikutachala temple with all the three vesara shikaras intact. The temple in east-west orientation is dedicated to Viranarayana, Venugopala and Yoga Narasimha, the first one being the principal image.
● Unlike the other ornate Hoysala temples, this temple is without raised platform or jagati.
● The temple is datable to circa 12th century AD.
Hebbe Falls is situated at 13°32′29″N 75°43′30″E about 10 km away from the famous hill station Kemmangundi in Karnataka, India. This waterfalls is inside a coffee estate and can be reached either by walk or four-wheeler.

Bisle is part of Western Ghats and situated in the border of Hassan district and Dakshina Kannada district. Bisle Viewpoint, about 5 Km from Bisle village, is popular as a view point to get the beautiful and astonishing views of three mountain ranges including Kumara Parvatha, Pushpagiri and Dodda Betta. The highlight of this point is that the view has a valley, with Giri River separating the beauty point and these mountain ranges.
Besides breathtaking views, it is also a perfect destination for the trekkers. Bisle Reserve Forest is also situated here which is home to a variety of flora and fauna. The forest remains protected and unexploited as there is no human occupancy in it.
Matanga Hill is one of the major places to visit in Hampi. Being the highest point in Hampi; this is the best spot to get an aerial view of Hampi and its surroundings. There is a small temple on the top of Matanga Hill where the Veerabhadra Temple can be found.The temple’s rooftop is a great spot to watch the dawn or sunset.
Matanga Hill is one of the sacred places listed in the epic Ramayana as the base of Saint Matanga, according to mythology. Sugriva also benefited from the mystical protection of the sage Matanga, who had set a death curse on Vali if he tried to visit the Matanga Hill area.
The view from the top is interesting, especially from the eastern side where you can get an aerial view of the Achyuta Raya’s Temple complex; at south, the cart trail and Turthu Canal winding through the banana plantations; at north the chain of hills and the river that flows along its ridges; at west the Hampi settlement with the tower of Virupaksha Temple dominating.
