"It's not you're self control" I have had this conversation so many times the past month.
Why is it as a society we chalk every perceived ill behavior as a lack of self control, or laziness??
Honestly, if it were that simple it would take us 30 days to train each new skill and we would all be almost perfect by now.

Let me repeat. Its NOT your self control.
It may be, a lack of awareness. Just simply not knowing the real reason you are doing that thing.
It may also be necessity. Your body requiring a certain thing to feel safe.

Cant get yourself to go to the gym?.... Maybe you require a workout partner. Do you have to be a do it aloner?? Is that like a rule?? because then why on earth is group fitness so popular?

Over eating / eating sweets : Maybe you take comfort in food, maybe thats where you feel safe. Your not going to be able to rob your body of that safety without replacing it with another (albiet healthier) safe space.

Stop wasting precious time and energy beating yourself up about your "lack of self control" it won't solve the problem!

Instead learn why its happening and how to adjust!
