President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud warmly welcomes the arrival of the ORUC REIS vessel at a special ceremony held at the Port of Mogadishu. This state-of-the-art vessel, equipped for advanced oil exploration, symbolizes a significant step forward in Somalia’s journey to unlock its vast natural resources. The President emphasized that this exploration endeavor holds the promise of transformative economic growth, job creation, and increased national revenue, paving the way for a brighter future for the Somali people.

Somalia’s Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi met with the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Senator Maryan Farah Kahiye, to discuss key diplomatic issues between Somalia and Ethiopia, embassy budgeting, ministry reforms, and global partnerships—reinforcing transparency, accountability, and good governance.
