Old Time Vegan
I'm a passionate vegan, working to eliminate animal cruelty. Please join me and help me save the animals.
I saw this post and had to share:
"There's a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us.
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere.
There's a time for us,
Some day a time for us,
Time together with time to spare,
Time to learn, time to care,
Some day!
Somewhere.
We'll find a new way of living,
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere...
There's a place for us,
A time and place for us.
Hold my hand and we're halfway there.
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
Somehow,
Some day,
Somewhere! "
"Her life was a dark shadow from your worst nightmare. And she was forced to walk the kill floor while she still had her baby teeth. Our paths crossed because we went looking for her and the others. We knew they would be there because they never stopped the killing. I remember her nuzzling my hands like a puppy right before she was executed. I made her a promise. To keep her story alive and never let anyone forget her. " ~Julia Novak

I'll admit, when we first went vegan, I was concerned. It's only natural to have questions, and wonder about things you've been told your whole life. You've got to eat meat to get plenty of protein, you've got to drink milk for calcium and strong bones. Well let's say those statements are a little less than accurate.
Yes we need proper nutrients to fuel our bodies, but did you know all protein originates from plants? When you're consuming animals for protein, you're simply getting second hand protein. Think about cows, horses, and other large animals like elephants, rhinos, and gorillas... some of the biggest strongest animals on the planet who don't eat animals. Unless they are magical creatures who convert plants to protein, or plants have protein... hmmm I can see the wheels spinning right now, just as mine once did when I started learning some of this.
If you want to get really nerdy and technical, Amino acids are molecules that combine to form proteins. Amino acids and proteins are the building blocks of life. To build proteins, cells use a complex assembly of molecules called a ribosome. The ribosome assembles amino acids into the proper order and links them together via peptide bonds. This process, known as translation, creates a long string of amino acids called a polypeptide chain.
.. And yes, plants have amino acids that we need too. So If you haven't already, I'd high encourage you to start getting your protein from the source, skip the middleman, and be kind to animals. The animals will thank you, your body with thank you, and as a bonus, the environment will thank you too!
ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE BIGGEST SUMMIT YET?! Join and me as we get ready for the 2022 RAP SUMMIT, YALL!
The 4th Rancher Advocacy Program Summit is coming up on July 30th! It's virtual, so everyone from all over the world can join AND WILL! Can you believe 22 countries were registered for the last summit! We expect this one to be bigger than EVER!!
Our summit focuses on connecting plant-based companies with farmers, centering the discussion on the need to transition farms, how to change our government food policy, and the need to prioritize Indigenous and Black farmers who have historically been marginalized in terms of access to markets.
You will not want to miss the conversation with the farmers who are transitioning from a chicken farm to a mushroom farm! Chicken farming is a dirty, dark, and ugly business. Mushroom farming is the future! Help us change the food system!

Chief among the misconceptions about soy foods is that they promote breast cancer, because they contain a class of phytoestrogen compounds called isoflavones. Since estrogens can promote breast cancer growth, itâs natural to assume phytoestrogens might too---but it turns out to be the opposite. We are brainwashed to eat animals just like we are brainwashed to believe other things we hold as true. The truth is âkilling is wrongâ, period. There is no if, ands or butts about it. If you were raised to eat animals then itâs time to raise yourself. Let go of traditional training and listen to that still small voice that contradicts the lies.
Milk is liquid blood
Milk comes from suffering, pain and torture
The meat and dairy farmers who are going vegan Due to animal welfare and environment concerns, some farms are converting to vegan production.
A pig, a dog, a cat or a cow? A goat, a horse, an elephant or a mouse? A human or a chimpanzee? Which one doesnât have a heart? Which one doesnât suffer? The only difference is our perception, period! Love, ReneĂŠ
Summer is right around the corner, and we've all seen it before. Someone leaves a dog in a hot car... Here in Ohio, it's legal to break a window of a car to rescue a dog. I'm willing and ready!
Most people know this, and often look out for dogs. What people don't think about are the animals on transport trucks, sometimes for up to 36 hours, with no water, no escape from the heat. Often animals will die in the heat, packed into these horrible transport trucks. I don't know what's more heartbreaking, seeing one full, or empty.
I'd like to encourage you who haven't started your journey, and care about dogs being left in hot cars, to share that compassion with all animals in the same situation EVERY single day. The sad reality is animals are in those trucks because people continue to pay for their suffering.
When you know better, do better, and we all can do better!
Iâm vegan because my heart hurts knowing animals suffer and that good people donât care. Find your real and authentic compassion! Thatâs where your vegan lives. Youâll be wondering what took you so long to make the connection!
Love ReneĂŠ
If we were all vegan, balance to nature would be restored because it is the original and authentic way of Mother Earth and God's Creation.
Going vegan can solve a lot of suffering and hardships on this earth. Animal exploitation is a huge reason why people go vegan. That's my first and foremost reason. Although, when I sit back and look at all the other benefits and positives that come from living veganism, it's clear that veganism goes hand in hand with the earth's balance. Living from the fruits, nuts, seeds, and veggies our Mother Earth provides is how it was meant to be. God never intended for us to eat the animals. Eden was vegan, and there's no slaughter in the afterlife, so why do we insist on living a bloodthirsty lifestyle?
The positives of going vegan include eliminating animal exploitation, a healthier body, creating a sustainable planet, and the list goes on. You can't turn your head to that and pretend it's not true.
Here I am with Houdini, Rowdy Girls 1st bornâshe's as much my granddaughter as any human child. I love her, and we have a familial bond.
I yearn for balance. My heart breaks for the billions of animals bred, confined, and slaughteredâanimals that had families like us.
Are we as a species ever going to wake up? It's so simple- be kind to all kinds and stop using God as a smokescreen for gluttony.
There are MANY reasons why you should stop eating animals. PLEASE SHARE YOUR REASON IN OUR COMMENTS BELOW!

This is my emotions to a teeâthe moment I realized who I was eating. Thereâs no reason to choose violence when going to the grocery store. These animals have feelings just like us. When we feel their suffering we will stop eating their bodies. Love, ReneĂŠ
You canât un-see once you see. You canât un-hear once you hear. But interestingly you can say âyou knowâ they suffer, but not care. It takes some of us a long time to see and hear the truth because the lies weâve been told are rooted in religion and tradition. Uproot the violenceâthatâs where youâll find your raw compassion. Love, ReneĂŠ
