Each January, St Joseph’s Aberdeen host a local InterACTs for clients with special needs bringing all organisations together.

This is something all clients look forward to each and every year with making new friends and learning new skills.

This year we are doing some fundraising to help keep the cost of each participant down.
The funds will be used to bring in new equipment/supplies as well as healthy meals for each day

We have available for clients to join our group activities.
These activities consist of different activities & you get to pick which one you attend.

These are to help develop socialising skills among other clients and building/maintaining friendships

Things could be:

* train rides
* mini train rides
* Zoos
* overnight trips
* football
* disco
* ETC

* Have an understanding of the NDIS
* Prompt and assist clients to achieve their independence

* Undertake tasks inside and outside the home (shopping, appointments, personal care, cleaning, food preparation)

Newcastle Netball Association will be holding a Come & Try All Abilities Netball Skills Clinic as part of Newcastle City Council’s Count Us In 2023 Disability Inclusion Festival which celebrates and creates a wonderful opportunities to highlight the importance of inclusion and accessibility in our community.

Everyone is welcome.
Come and enjoy learning how the game is played and how you can experience this fun activity with friends.

Our special needs basketball is on again this Wednesday. It is open to all people with a disability.

We do some skills and drills followed by a game each week.

Time: 5pm-6pm
Location: Muswellbrook Indoor Sports Centre

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

We are looking at running a 1 hour session of basketball per week for special needs. This would be on a Wednesday night. It would be some skills and drills to learn how to play basketball followed by a game of basketball.

Just looking at gathering numbers to ensure it would be worth while running the training sessions.
