'ZZ Plant'
Zamioculcas Zamiifolia in a 10" 3 gal nursery pot.
A must have!!! Why!? Because....
"ZZ plant, with its wide, attractive, dark green leaves, boasts many favorable traits for offices and homes. ZZ plant tolerates neglect, is drought tolerant, and accepts low-light conditions without throwing a fit. Its waxy, smooth leaves reflect sunlight and brighten rooms. ZZ usually grows slowly to a height and width of two to three feet so it is not a plant monster that outgrows containers quickly. ZZ plant also is an air purifier and in a NASA study, researchers found it is specifically adept at removing copious amounts of toxins such as xylene, toluene, and benzene from the air."

Deiffenbachia "Compacta"

Quick care tips:
Dieffenbachia prefer soil that is consistently and lightly moist, but not soggy. Generally, aim to water when the top 1”- 2” of the soil is dry, but if the plant is in a lower light condition, it can comfortably dry out a little further. However, allowing the soil to dry completely will result in the leaves browning, drooping, and wilting.
Cool drafts can cause the plant’s leaves to yellow and curl, so keep it in a spot with temperatures above 60 degrees. The Dieffenbachia is susceptible to spider mites, but placing it out of the direct stream of air vents and increasing the humidity around the plant with a humidifier, pebble tray, or mister will aid in prevention.
Rotate your plant periodically to ensure even growth on all sides and dust the leaves often so the plant can photosynthesize efficiently. When dusting the leaves, also take the opportunity to inspect the undersides and keep an eye out for pests.
Plant Friends!!! Our packaging FINALLY showed up, for everyone that has been asking about our soils. Ready to Use Coco Coir, Orchid Bark and Cactus & Succulent Soils are ready for all your repotting needs! 🌱💚

Sanseveria "Jaboa"
Winter is coming!
If you're looking for an easy-care houseplant, you can't do much better than a snake plant. This hardy indoor is still popular today because of how adaptable it is to a wide range of growing conditions.... like dark gloomy Fort Mac Winters that last for what seems like 7months of the year! Most snake plant varieties have stiff, upright, sword-like leaves that may be banded or edged in gray, silver, or gold. Snake plant's architectural nature makes it a natural choice for modern and contemporary interior designs. It's one of the best houseplants around. Snake Plants cleans air better than most other indoor plants as it has the ability to absorb excessive amounts of carbon monoxide. Additionally, it emits oxygen and filters other toxins from the air such as benzene, xylene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde.

Sticky Trap strips are now online!
Fungus Gnats are often considered only a minor houseplant pest. However, they can quickly become a major issue if an infestation gets out of hand. It's important to know how to identify, get rid of and prevent a fungus gnat infestation in your plants.
We now carry Sticky trap strips to help you prevent and tackle fungus gnats, whiteflies, thrips, aphids and other small bug infestations. The sticky traps help with trapping the adult flies to prevent further infestation. Although the sticky’s help with the adult flies the larvae is still burrowed in the soil, pair with mosquito dunks to help tackle the larvae in the soil.
Did you know....
Contrary to lore, spraying or misting foliage with water is not an efficient way to increase humidity for houseplants. A humidifier works better, or you can set the plant on a dish of pebbles and add just enough water to touch the bottom of the pot. Misting does, however, help keep leaves clean and fresh, and it’s a good way to provide moisture to cuttings that are slowly developing new roots. Use soft water (water low in minerals) when misting, and make sure it’s no cooler than room temperature. Mist in the morning whenever possible, and never mist plants that are exposed to full sun.
Happy Friday Plant Friends!!!
Did you know...
Monsteras grow along and up trees, primarily in shaded areas. Research by botanist’s suggests these holes allow sunlight to pass though to the base of the plant for photosynthesis = energy. Hole-lier leaves tend to be bigger, which have more surface area to grab sunlight – helping them as they grow vertically and closely against trees. These holes also allow rain to pass and trickle down to their roots as well.
Just a little friendly reminder :)
