Special Issue on COVID-19 ( call for manuscripts)

The Gene Editing journal: Young, open, and free!

“Gene Editing” is a peer-reviewed journal, which is publishing in all fields of genetic modification techniques including gene editing, genome editing, gene correction, gene therapy, gene correction in rare diseases, engineered immunotherapies, CRISPR-Cas9, nucleases including but not limited to TALENs and ZFNs, human genetics, genetically modified organisms, gene editing in molecular pathways involved in gene repair, and gene biology with scientific originality, medical importance, and significant conclusions.

The novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) is a highly infectious acute respiratory disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Related Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Today, over five million cases around the world have been declared. The emergence and outbreak of the novel coronavirus have highlighted the urgent need for fast, sensitive, stable, easy-to-produce and target-specific novel therapeutic technologies for surveillance and treatment.

This Special Issue aims to bring together gene editing approaches such as

CRISPR-Cas12/13-based SHERLOCK, DETECTR, CARVER and PAC-MAN,
Anti-sense oligonucleotides and anti-sense peptide nucleic acids,
Ribozymes and Aptamers
RNAi silencing therapies
to diagnose or target circulating SARS-CoV-2 infection. Thus, the robust DNA or RNA based technologies that can revolutionize diagnostic and therapies to fight COVID-19 with a highly specific, stable and efficient way will be collectively discussed as alternative biotechnological drugs in the future to conventional vaccines and drugs.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at http://www.genediting.net/ by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline (31 August 2020). All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the COVID-19 special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts are available on the Instructions for Authors page. Gene Editing is an international peer-reviewed open access journal published by Asos Education Information Consultancy/ Academic Communication.

Please however feel free to contact [email protected] should you wish to run an idea past us. Please note that papers will have to adhere to the journal space and style requirements.
