In the Victorian era beans were used as good luck talismans. Over many months, sea beans would drift across the Atlantic from the Caribbean to Europe. Their hard shells would protect the valuable interior so that by the time they washed up on European shores they were still able to germinate. This ability lead people to believe they were symbols of fertility, luck, endurance and new beginnings.

I love the story of the hardy bean so I carved his one 🌱It is solid 9ct yellow gold with a little star set diamond…which happens to be the birthstone of April ✨
