We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, we can’t thank everyone enough for getting us so far in Cobrapparel Australia’s best beanie comp. We couldn’t have done it without you all and we appreciate each and everyone of you!

WE’D BETTER TOUCH ON OUR OTHER GRAND FINALISTS 👨🏼‍✈️✈️👨🏼‍🦲

Receding Airline – the fairytale run that got so incredibly close to taking out the title. In a competition where it is so hard to beat clubs and schools, the lads managed to cut through and score a ridiculous 5331 votes in 24 hours. 🛩️

To put it in perspective they would’ve won last year, and it almost was good enough to knock off the raging favourites in Parkview.

As we mentioned in the announcement video, did Receding Airline lose? We’re not so sure. Yep, they were on the wrong end of the final scoreline, but the competition made sure everyone knew about this fantastic brand, focussed around one of the wittiest names ever.

Throughout the competition, the amount of comments we saw from people who had just put 2 and 2 together with the brand name - started by two balding twin brothers who are also pilots – was huge!

And always the same response, a big laugh at the realisation it’s one of the greatest brand names out there! 🙌

Brand awareness is key to getting your name out there, and when it’s a business name that literally makes you smile when you work out its genius, there’s a lot of goodwill that goes along with it. It’s something even the best marketers wouldn’t be able to replicate!

Speaking of marketing, these two brothers know their stuff! They were our biggest ever Instagram vote getters, built on side promotions ran alongside the competition, something we absolutely love! We particularly loved the part where they offered a scenic flight for the big dance!

The beanie is brilliant. Tan is a great base colour and coupled with chocolate brown and white it looks unreal. Their design choices have been as great as their name so we think there’s going to be a lot happening with this brand. Certainly one to watch.

To finish with, the Montgomery's are the epitome of good blokes. Throughout the competition and in all our dealings the lads have been unreal to deal with. We guarantee what you see is what you get!

RECEDING AIRLINE IS THROUGH TO THE FINAL 4! Another MASSIVE score from the blading brothers ensures the fairytale run continues!

Once again the lads have dominated on Instagram and that’s what has got them through despite losing the Facebook poll! If anyone is going to knock them off their perch they’ll well and truly need to address that!

Fantastic effort from Dundedoo to rack up over 1000 votes of their own and making sure Receding Airline was never able to put the cue in the rack! We’ve loved having the Swans in the comp for the first time ever!

The Prelim is going to be a very tough battle for the lads! They’re potentially only two wins away from being Australia’s Best Beanie!
