As our Big Shoes fam knows, we were honored that our label, Qualified Records, was successful in getting us on the first stage Ballot for a Grammy nomination.

Fast forward to today, we’d like to send our congrats to Jason Isbell on his win this afternoon in our category at the Grammy celebration in LA. He’s a tremendous talent and obviously, this recognition is well deserved as Weathervanes is an excellent album. The other nominees are stellar artists as well.

We’re not sitting still for the coming year, and there’s new music in the works! And we will take another bite at the proverbial apple for the Grammys 2025 with your help!

Today is the 51st Anniversary of the release of Dixie Chicken which was a HUGE milestone. It was also the first album with Paul Barrere, Kenny Gradney, and Sam Clayton who joined forces with Lowell George, Bill Payne, and Richie Hayward to create “the classic” Little Feat lineup. Happy Anniversary!

MEET THE SHOES!
Will McFarlane - Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter
Whatever musical magic is contained in the water of the Tennessee River as it winds its way through Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Will McFarlane has been drinking deeply of it for decades! His wonderfully soulful singing and slide guitar playing add that unmistakeable Muscle Shoals sound and flavor to the Big Shoes Front Line.
Originally hailing from Graham, Texas, Will was a Navy kid whose family was always on the move. He began cutting his teeth as a professional guitarist in the 70’s playing clubs in DC, Boston, and Cambridge where he was discovered by Bonnie Raitt.
After five years on the road with Bonnie and extensive session work in LA, Will relocated to Muscle Shoals and became a part of the infamous rhythm section known as The Swampers. His guitar work has been heard on albums by Bonnie Raitt, Levon Helm, Etta James, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Joss Stone, Toby Keith, and Billy Ray Cyrus.
Will has released 6 albums as a solo artist and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame as a Member of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

Big Shoes is back at Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar on Printers Alley, Nashville this Friday nite 8/20 from 6:30-9:30pm. We'll be playing some songs from our new soon to be released album as well as the usual mix of originals, Little Feat, and cover songs. You don't want to miss this one.
