Thank you to Okanagan Skaha Teachers Union, CUPE 523 and the District Parents Advisory Committee for hosting candidates on Tuesday night at the SD 67 School Board Offices. Nine of twelve candidates attended and responded to questions prepared by the organizers and the audience. The event was well attended! Thank you to all who came out to learn more about the candidates.

Happy belated World Teacher's Day! Thank you to all teachers who work tirelessly to support and guide our children. I believe that education is the gateway to healthy and thriving communities. The dedicated teachers in SD 67 contribute daily to enable students to reach their full potential. Their contribution makes a difference in student's lives every day.

‘Improving student achievement is the key work of locally-elected boards of education. The interests of B.C. students are best met through local decision-making with an engaged community.’

On September 15th I attended (virtually), the board of education meeting. Superintendent Manuel presented and the board approved the Enhancing Student Learning report for 2021-2022. The report is a key communication piece with the community on student achievement and the work the district is doing to ensure that students meet their highest potential.
