Me soaking up the sunshine today 🌞🌼 Bloodroot are spring ephemerals, meaning they are one of the first flowers to bloom each year. With the warmer tempers lately, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these beauties!
Bloodroot favors growing in woods or wooden thickets, making public lands a great place to look for them (and to enjoy warming temps and sun rays!).

The weather got CRAZY warm for February in the Taconics! 70 degrees for two days in a row
Picked up sticks in the yard and enjoyed a hike up to pinwheel point
The storms have been extra windy, and the pinwheel is long gone (will need to make a more storm proof pinwheel!)
I looked around for it, but no luck this time
