Deciding how to wrap up your presentation can often be the trickiest part. Whatever you choose, do not make these mistakes:
1. A half-baked, anti-climactic ending.
2. An abrupt wrap-up with no conclusion. It must be clear the presentation is over!
3. Don’t keep talking once you have announced the presentation is over.
4. Avoid fidgeting once the presentation is over. Stand still for a few seconds.
Remember, your wrap-up needs to be just as impactful as your opening line!
I’m not just a freelance presentation designer, I hold a passion for all things design!
The result? Well, I am not only to create professional decks, but decks that have an impact on anyone who views them.

Did you know that the average PowerPoint presentation has just 40 words per slide?
Personally, I recommend even less, to prevent text overload!
My favorite way to keep the word limit down is to rely on summarized bullet points. Remember, your audience came to listen to you, not read a story!
Not sure how to wrap up a presentation? Take inspiration from these 5 ideas:
1. Propel the audience into action with a powerful quote
2. Inspire with a powerful visual
3. Regain attention with a rhetorical question
4. End with a motivational tale that reflects your key message
5. Conclude with a surprising and thought-provoking fact or statistic

Creating an outline not only gives your presentation direction, it also directs you on how to wrap it best up!
My personal tip is to always add a ‘call to action’ at the end of your outline.
Some examples of CTAs to use at the end of your presentation include: asking your audience whether they have any questions or whether they have understood the concept.

Did you know that the average adult only has an attention span of around 15-20 minutes?
So, if you want to ensure your presentation is effective, stick to this time limit!
During the planning phase, I recommend taking note of all the themes you want to cover and how you plan to get them across concisely and effectively.
Design Tips – Relax on the Text:
As a rule of thumb, I recommend trying using 7X7 rules: for every slide, use no more than seven lines of text and no more than seven words per line.
Why? Well, because the information can overwhelm your audience. Remember, the audience often has to process everything you say while they view the slide.
Keep following along for more expert design tips!
Before diving into presentation creation, you should consider creating a presentation outline.
A key step in doing this is finding, organizing, and adding visuals where appropriate to your points.
Remember, the brain can process images up to 60,000 times faster than words. That’s why I consider visuals every presentation’s secret weapon!

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” – Steve Jobs
When it comes to design elements like color and font, I don’t view them as standalone elements that ‘look and feel’ a certain way.
I always go beyond this by asking myself, how do these elements work together to elevate the overall design and its message!
Over the years, I have encountered my fair share of graphic design trends, some hits, and some misses!
Looking bad, ‘lack of white space’ and ‘maximalism’ are definitely two of the worst.
So, if you could leave behind any design trend in 2022, what would it be? Let’s discuss below!
Did you know that, according to a study on human decision-making and behavior, people make up their minds about a company in just 90 seconds?
This means that your audience only looks at your design material for a few seconds before deciding whether they like you!
Even more reason to ensure your pitch deck's design is curated to perfection!
Consider this a PSA: be careful when using the slide themes included in your software when designing a presentation.
Not only might they be overused and boring, but most people can agree that they aren’t the kindest to the eye!
Rather start designing a clean presentation or get in touch with a design expert like me for help!
I can never stress this enough — with typography, go for legibility over fun every time!
While you can use a creative font for a slide title, avoid using it for body text.
Instead, stick to clean, traditional typefaces like Helvetica.
PS: if you are adding text to a dark background, make it bold to improve readability.
Are you curious to learn the secrets behind creating a killer presentation outline?
Firstly, steer clear of long-winded sentences!
During the outline phase, your focus should be getting all your ideas down in bullet point form – grammar doesn’t matter!
Remember, you can always go back and touch up the language later for your audience to read.

The thing about great design is that it never goes out of style. Rather, it is a universal language of aesthetics, everyone can understand!
