✨W e H a v e N e w s✨

As of today I am a FULL TIME CERAMICIST!

As New Year was approaching I began thinking about my goals for 2024, on that list was to go full time with this little business at some point. I did not for a minute expect to do that right now. But as we all know sometimes life has other plans for us, and on the 30th of December I found out that the bakery I’ve been working at has closed which is really sad, but it left me with a choice… find another part time job OR give ceramics my all. After a few days of processing I chose the latter.

I have taken this situation as a sign that this is what I’m supposed to do, the timing may not be what we had planned but this is an opportunity and I’m going to make the most of it.

I’m feeling excited and terrified, but mostly excited. I feel like I’ve been blessed with time, time to work on all the projects I’ve been dreaming up, time to connect with other small businesses, time to teach and run workshops and share what I’m passionate about with the world. And all this is possible because of you lovely people that have supported me on this journey to get here. So thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

Let’s do this 2024.

(Side note - if any of my lovely regulars from the bakery sees this, I will miss you, I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye, please stay in touch 🤎)

Exciting news!

Made to order is coming very soon! It’s taken a lot of experimenting with different clays and glazes to get to this point but I made it!

I have been working away making samples for my website that will be made to order pieces, this means each one can be customised. They will still all be totally unique, they won’t be identical to the samples and there will always be variations in shapes and sizes because that’s just how I roll.

But I am SO excited to be putting these out into the world.

There will be variations of pet parent mugs, name mugs, tumblers, trinket dishes and some other very exciting pet related personalised pots (can you guess what they will be? 🐾)

My latest project has been earrings! They are essentially mini versions of my pinch pot ring dishes and they’ve been so fun to make. The kiln is currently bisque firing a whole bunch ready for me to glaze and I’m going to have a go at some other colours along with my usual turquoise ones 💙💚

Another experiment out of the kiln and she’s a beauty! It reminds me of fairy pools 🧚

This piece was a carefree experiment from start to finish and it’s now one of my favourites. It will be going to live with my mum and dad but I’ll be experimenting with ideas I gained from this in the future.

I’ve started making vases and I think they are my new favourite thing to make!

I make all my glazes from scratch and so there’s always some variation but this one was a total surprise and I love it!

I thought it was about time I made a page for my ceramics.

Just to introduce myself a little bit:

Hello! I’m Naomi, a part-time ceramicist based in Nottingham. I create my pots slowly and individually from my little home studio. I set up my business as a ceramicist in summer 2020 and have been loving it ever since. I love earthy colours and organic shapes and that naturally seems to carry through my work. I make my pots using all sorts of pottery techniques including throwing, pinching, slab building and Kurinuki. I always work as sustainably as I can, reusing packaging, recycling clay and only putting on my kiln when it’s full.

Stick around to join me on my pottery journey.

New mugs fresh from the kiln! These will all be coming with me to The Garage Chilwell on Sunday!
