If life were a video game, I would have placed all my stats in dentistry, but not enough stats in social-media-IQ. Here is an extra Title beyond being a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist.
Pacifiers recommended 0-1 years old.
After 1 year old, toss those pacifiers. If you don't want to, then you are molding your child's skull around the pacifier.
When I am brushing my children's teeth, I divide the mouth into 6 areas:
1. Upper right 20 seconds
2. Upper middle 20 seconds
3. Upper left 20 seconds
4. Lower right 20 seconds
5. Lower middle 20 seconds
6. Lower left 20 seconds
Brush each area and count to 20 aloud. Ultimately, you will finish brushing for 120 seconds (2 minutes).
Giving your child these 2 minutes can save you thousands of dollars in dental bills.
When you want your kids to read, but they don't want to. RPG games force them to read to win.
The mechanism of tooth eruption can be complicated. This 6 year-old-girl had a front tooth that was not erupting, even though both baby teeth exfoliated at the same time.
I numbed and excised the gums around the tooth. 2- months-followup shown.

"My 12-year-old is experiencing discomfort as their wisdom teeth begin to emerge! 🦷 Wisdom teeth, officially known as third molars, typically make their appearance between the ages of 17 and 25. The term 'wisdom teeth' stems from the notion that individuals are presumably 'wiser' at this stage of life.
At 12 years old, these molars are referred to as '12-year molars,' representing the second set of permanent molars. The first set emerges at the age of 6. Dentistry might not be known for its creativity in naming!
When a 12-year-old feels pain in their lower left or right molars, it could be due to the eruption of these molars. The gums, which previously covered these molars, are now being affected by the erupting ones on top. This flap of SWOLLEN GINGIVA is identified as an 'operculum,' and the resulting swelling is termed 'operculitis.' To address this, we perform an 'operculectomy,' a procedure involving the removal of the operculum. Let's ensure your child's dental comfort during this stage! 😊 "
I am honored to announce that I have been promoted to the rank of Major in the United States Army reserves. I am grateful for the support and guidance of my family, friends, and colleagues who have helped me along the way. I am proud to serve my country and fellow soldiers with dedication, integrity, and excellence. I am ready to take on new challenges and responsibilities with my new rank and role. I look forward to continuing my journey as a leader and learner in the army.
Meet this adorable 4-year-old boy who came to us with severe early childhood caries. This condition affects the front teeth and often requires general anesthesia to perform the necessary restoration. However, we know that general anesthesia can pose some risks for young children, so we prefer to avoid it whenever possible. That’s why we completed the treatment in the clinic, using our expertise and skills to make the process as comfortable and safe as possible for our little patient. As an attending at UNLV dental school pediatric residency program, I also have the privilege of sharing my techniques with the next generation of pediatric dentists. I hope this inspires them to provide the best care for their future patients.
