The other day I was honored to go to one of the best Christmas parties ever, for Love Life Charlotte. The heart of these individuals and mission to advocate for life from the womb to the tomb, is inspiring and effective. Thank you Love Life volunteers for all you do to see babies saved and families restored!

City Talks with Councilwoman-Elect Surluta Anthony & Mayor-Elect Robert Burns 08/12/2023

I'm happy to announce a first for our city, a new series called City Talks. In this first episode, I was able to interview Surluta Anthony , one of our newly elected council members, who has previous experience on the council and was born and raised in Monroe.

It was a pleasure speaking with her and briefly chatting to get this series started. I look forward to working with her to make Monroe the greatest it has ever been.

Stay tuned; as we get going, we will be doing more of these to introduce all our council members and also talk about policies, voting in council meetings, and so many other things, Monroe. THIS IS TRANSPARENCY.

I love you Monroe ❤️

This waterline has been repaired by our awesome Water Resource Crew already! The road work will start tomorrow as well.

Proud to be working with these dedicated workers soon. To continue building the greatest city in NC, we need a solid foundation of people dedicated to this city. These crews spent a long cold, wet day making the repairs because they care.

Great job team! I am honored to be serving with you soon. With your help, Monroe's future is brighter than it has ever been.

Water Resources crews are conducting an emergency water main repair at the intersection of N. Church Street and E Franklin Street.

The repairs will impact local restaurants, businesses, and any residents in the immediate area for approximately 6-8 hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as repairs are being made. Streets and travel lanes may be affected due to the repairs and possible unforeseen circumstances as repairs progress.

For questions, please contact our after hours phone number 704-282-4601 for assistance.

To all my friends and supporters and to all those following this page:

Over the course of the 3.5 months of my campaign my page has become a debating platform and has at times become a hot topic page. The algorithm of this page now hits almost 80,000 people each month. 74,355 people as of this post, for matter of fact.

We have tried to stay above the hate messages and often bullying that happens. There are truly only a select few who do this. It’s completely obvious once you watch what they say. Due to the nature and severity of what they were saying, I was given the okay eventually to block them for theirs and other’s safety because I was only a candidate.

HOWEVER now that I’m officially an elected official and will not be recreating another page, I will be unblocking those people. I ask that you try and keep it as civil as possible. It is okay to disagree and also dislike me of course. I also want you to know that this is now a public forum so if you feel threatened in any way, even if they try and delete their posts, they are retrievable and we have everything. I also want to remind those who were blocked and back on, your comments are now public to thousands and you should second guess how you proceed unless you just don’t care, which is possible too. So to be clear, I will not block a single account or message. If your comment is filtered then that could be Facebook and for other reasons but not from me or my team.

And finally I finish by saying that I don’t condone hate by any stretch regardless what some may say. I am a bold person and will stand on The Truth regardless if it hurts feelings. That is not the same as hate. I can’t control what others say but can only control what I say.

I love you Monroe, Robert

One week until Monroe knows the results of the closest mayoral race in Monroe ever. Seems like forever to hear the results until then. But know this, Lauren and I love you and we are here to defend and lead our city regardless of the outcome. You got us for the long haul. We aren’t going anywhere.

This is far from over. Buckle up y’all. Just spoke to the Board of Elections. Announcement coming soon! 🗳️

You have a voice. Be heard.

Well…early voting is over. What a two and a half weeks we had! It was a lot of work. It took a lot of dedication from our volunteers and family. We poured our heart and soul into this and the fruit will be shown soon. We were able to discuss the direction of our city with many voters, council candidates, and even other people who live outside of our municipality.

One thing for sure is that the amount of time and effort we put in wasn’t easy, but is well worth it. While early voting was very fruitful, we still have a couple more days until election day. We still have work to do! Help us get the word out and tell your friends and neighbors. This election is easily the most important one in the history of our city. Word-of-mouth goes along way!

This is not about me and never has been. It’s all about you Monroe and I’m here for YOU! I love you, Monroe ❤️!
