Darrin Hern for Barber County District 2 County Commissioner
This is the official page for Darrin Hern and his 2020 campaign for Barber County District 2 County
Barber County Residents: I would like thank each and everyone of you that took the time to write me in for county commissioner. Also, thank you to all that shared my posts, and told family and friends about my campaign.
With the amount of write-ins we had, that should have told the county officials, that there is a lot of us ready to see change for the county. I may have not won this year, but I promise you, I am not done fighting for you! Thanks again!
Darrin Hern.
As a life long resident and a business owner for more than a decade. I understand the challenges it takes to be conservative and efficient. As your commissioner, I will have your interest in mind. I will work hard to address what the tax payers need, to make sure your hard earned tax dollars are not going to waste. Without you, we do not have a county! We do not want to be the next county, where people are saying, “we had to leave because of the cost of living”. I believe Barber County is great, I have staked my life and business on it. Please help me be a new voice for Barber County!
Write-In Darrin Hern for Barber County District 2 County Commissioner.
Barber County, I ask you to vote for someone new. Just because a person has experience, does not mean it has been done right all of these years.
WRITE-IN Darrin Hern
Barber County Residents:
With the increasing number of Covid cases popping up in our area, it has made it very difficult to get out and meet the people. I understand we all have different views concerning this epidemic; however, my priority is the safety and the health of the people. I feel at this time the local papers and social media are the best route to get my message out. If you haven't got a copy of the last weeks Gyp Hill Premiere or the Alva NewsGram, please do so and share with your friends.
After sitting in on a commissioners meeting, I left with the thought of, I wonder how different I heard the issues our county faces as to someone that has been in there for awhile now. How much of these meetings have just become repetitious and go with the flow. That's why I believe at any level of government, there reaches a time when there needs to be change. I am willing to bring new ideas to the table, willing to listen to the residents, willing to fight to make Barber County better and at the same time decrease your tax dollars. We always hear of taxes going up, but never the option of taxes going down.
A write-in campaign comes with many difficulties. A lot of people have asked me what they need to do to make sure there write in vote is counted. I have visited with the County Clerk and the most important thing to remember is to circle in the oval and write in my name. You do not have to stress about spelling my name correct on the ballot for it to count.
With not being able to go door to door please feel free to contact me by phone, call, text or email with any questions or concerns you have or just to chat. And please share, share, share this post!
Sincerely,
Darrin Hern, Write-In District 2, County Commissioner

WRITE-IN DARRIN HERN FOR BARBER COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 2!
Feel free to share this post, and please follow my page!
Hello!
I would like to thank you all for the support during the primary election! It was a very close race and with that said, I have decided to keep the race going. I am officially running for County Commissioner for District 2 as a WRITE-IN.
One of the reasons I have decided to keep this campaign running is my drive to make a change for the people. I have received an outpouring of feedback from the community who would like to see the same changes as myself. I also believe after 17 years there needs to be changes made. Taxes continue to go up and they don’t seem to be getting any better. Another, is that I believe all the parties in this district should have a chance to make their voices heard.
I would also like to remind the people that my name will not be on the ballot in November. The voter will have to write my name in the area provided along with coloring in the oval.
To make this write-in campaign successful, I need the help from my supporters to get the word out! Please share this to your personal page and feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Tomorrow is an important day. If we do not get a handle on these high property taxes, they will continue to raise year after year. For years now we have watched our property values go up without doing any improvements, and it hasn’t been a little bit, some residents have doubled. If elected, I will be in the tax payers corner to fight for you to hold on to more of your hard earned money. The county and state both need to learn how to budget!
VOTE HERN FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER.
Year after year we hear we don’t have the oil and gas money we had from the County Officals. So taxes need to go up. I am certain the lower oil and gas prices hurt the people that actually provided a service to the oil and gas industry. Now there is less money coming into the home, while taxes continue to go up. Oil has been on the decline for 4 to 5 years now. Companies in the industry had to tighten their belts and figure out a way to get through it, some made it, some did not. But it seems the county did not change their spending ways, while the oil prices were going down to adjust for the money that was coming in. New vehicles, new equipment, and new buildings, etc...
VOTE HERN AUGUST 4TH FOR CHANGE.
Build the deck, paint the house, mow the grass, add landscaping, put up the new shop, all to be PUNISHED BY HIGHER HOME TAX EVALUATIONS. All these improvements can and will help keep our county and towns looking their best. But fears of what your property taxes will look like have people afraid to invest in THEIR OWN PROPERTY. Vote Hern and I will do whatever it takes to help you invest in your own property without being punished for it. LETS REBUILD THIS COUNTY TO HELP THE TAX PAYERS!
VOTE HERN AUGUST 4TH!
