Health Benefits of :
“Asparagus is one of the most nutritionally balanced plant-derived foods. Low in fat, cholesterol, and sodium, asparagus also has vitamin A (also known as retinol because it produces pigments in the retina), E (has strong antioxidant properties, meaning it reduces oxidative damage caused by oxygen, which can harm human tissue, cells, and organs), and K (which helps your blood clot), magnesium, zinc and selenium, as well as fiber, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, iron, copper, and manganese.
As the above list shows, asparagus leads the pack in the wide range of nutrients it supplies, as well as amounts. An example: a 5.3 ounce serving of asparagus provides a whopping 60% of the recommended daily allowance of folate – and the USRDA calls 40% excellent. Besides keeping your heart healthy, folate is necessary for blood cell reproduction, especially in bone marrow, normal growth, and liver disease prevention. Studies have shown folate, also known as vitamin B9, to be a significant factor in the prevention of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida...”

The most useful thing a salve does is to cover and enclose a problem while the active healing element in the salve gets to work.
Almost any small wound, cut, graze, sting would heal under such circumstances.
The healing element enables the recovery to be faster and more successful. That's why God made healing plants for us.
Here in Arizona, we hear a lot about "killer bees". While there do sometimes seem to be unprovoked attacks by marauding bees (maybe -- i want to be fair here), often the real story is quite different.
Someone wanting to renovate a house finds an active bee colony living there and starts attacking a hive that might have lived there quietly for generations. Of course the bees strike back. In Brewery Gulch, we've had several such episodes, inclluding one where a friend of mine was stung over 500 times.
She was just driving by, minding her own beesness, when the genius who was renovating starting destroying a 50-year hive.
She was taken to the local hospital where they thought an emergency airlift to Tucson was needed but she insisted on getting a friend to pick up some homeopathic apis for her.
Apis is a remedy made from bee venom. She took some and walked out of hospital half an hour later.
I think probably everyone knows about honey's wound healing powers. You can just dab some honey on a scratch or bite on you or your child or your cat or dog. A slightly sticky cat is better than a trip to the vet, don't you think?
I prefer raw honey for those purposes but i hear that all kinds of honey works. I'm thinking about making a honey salve, with organic everything including the honey.
It's such a shame we've treated the bees so badly, using them like worker slaves by toting their hives all over the agricultural fields of America. And thereby also exposing them to the very pesticides that have decimated them.
Everyone who can should keep a hive with good pollen supplies growing nearby so they don't have to go further afield and become poisoned.
I don't think it's too late to save bees.
You can treat yourself and your family with so many wonderful plant helpers. If your cat got bitten by another cat, which usually results in an abscess forming, use your aloe plant which you have growing in a pot in your kitchen.
For your careless cooking burn.
For your careless fighting cat, slice an aloe leaf open (i always apologise to the aloe because it just seems to darn rude to do that) and smear the gunky jelly from the aloe leaf over any puncture wound you can find.
If you do that several times a day, that abscess will open and drain (Ugh, disgusting, but there you are) and be cleared within a very few days. i think our record was three days but a week is normal.
The poor aloe is such a faithful servant to us all. Have several plants.
And, what I love about traditional home remedies that you can make for yourself, such as the harmless helpful salves featured on this page, is that they first do no harm and they then do good.
And no-one has to believe in anything. They are cheap, non-mystical and thoroughly try-able. They are also well-founded in nice plants, like lavender, or helpful spices like turmeric, or kind flowers like the marigold.
Personally I don't believe in believing in a cure. I believe in trying something, finding it helpful and then adding it to my army of friendly helpers in the journey of my life.

I'm Frena Gray-Davidson and I've had a long interest in traditional medicine, especially in easy-to-use, no side-effect, restorative helpers.
Coming from England, I had a basic interest in help from traditional medicines, especially plant helpers.
I've long used and been interested in essential oils and their helping aspects for our own well-being.
I lived in Asia for 15 years, two years in Nepal and eventually basing myself in Hong Kong from which I traveled regularly all over Asia, writing articles and broadcasting. While in Hong Kong, I studied Tai Chi with martial arts Master Ha Kwok-Cheung and traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture with Dr But Chak-kei.
Thanks to my interests and my good fortune in meeting great teachers I've been able to write about healing in different cultures. Among my books are:

Effectively helping thousands of ailments such as strep throat and acid reflux, the benefits of apple cider vinegar also extend to treating high blood pressure. Just a few tablespoons a day for one month could have a dramatic impact. I have seen people’s blood pressure go from 150/80 to 130/80 in just a month while taking 2 tablespoons of ACV a day. Many others have experienced the same scenario, and blood pressure medications are often chucked. This is one of many home remedies for high blood pressure that could help you too.

parsley oil.........hmmmmmm
Parsley-
This bright green herb, overlooked as “just a garnish” by many, has lately caught the attention of the medical community. Parsley contains apigenine, a natural oil that has been shown to prevent angiogenesis – the growth of blood vessels that supply cancerous tumors with nutrients. The apigenine from parsley cuts off the blood supply to a tumor.
