9 days left to enter the Appalachian Festival Pageant......Model Scout will be there selecting people of all ages for the Citrus Festival in FL. The selected group rides in Parade, goes to Citrus Bowl And Disney World, plus will have opportunities for future modeling. Get your applications in ASAP for great prizes, beautiful crowns and a chance of a lifetime!

I am excited to announce our guest judge of honor is the Eastern US Director for World's Perfect Model Search and he is scouting for the upcoming National Citrus Festival in Orlando in Feb. He is scouting Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses for this event. They meet with agents ride on a float for the Festival Parade, go to the Citrus Bowl football game and Disney World. This is an opportunity of a Lifetime for our WV girls and boys. Enter the Appalachian Festival Pageant on August 14th now to ensure your spot to compete before we fill up. (Please keep in mind contacting any judge prior to the competition is grounds for disqualification.)

I am so very sorry and sad to say, but we had to cancel the Appalachian Festival Pageant this year due to my health and waiting on my lungs. They could come at anytime then I will be required to live there for several months. We will start back next year and hopefully with my new lungs so I will be better then ever!!!

***Update drawing will be delayed to after to the auction of Wonderland of trees! We apologize, due to logistics for us to go live we had to move the timing. The time depends on the last tree auctioned so come out see the trees and help the United Way of Southern WV!!!!! Then, stay to see if you are the lucky winner!

Just a reminder for everyone that bought a square from the Appalachian Queen’s fundraiser, the drawing is tonight at 5:30 PM. We will be drawing live on FB from the Wonderland of Trees United Way auction tonight. We would love for you to join us and come see the beautiful trees! Good luck to everyone!

Today, our girls are spending the morning at the Tamarack! The Tamarack showcases some of the most beautiful pieces of art work from local artists of all ages! Today, local artist Merideth Young is showing everyone how her artwork is made. Merideth told us that her focus is to spread joy and love and positivity with her artwork.

Our queens had a great time at the Appalachian Festival yesterday! They helped judge the Taste of Beckley contest and spent time getting to know some of the vendors. Our Little Miss Appalachian Festival even got to watch the magician from Yummi Japan perform some really cool magic tricks!

Today our Appalachian Festival Queens are visiting the Raleigh County Public Library for the Sounds of Appalachia where they helped kids create their own lap harp and design a musical marble tree! This event is going on until 3!

Our queens are enjoying the Appalachian Festival and all that it has to offer! Yesterday, they enjoyed Pastor Jack’s fudge and the quilts at the Arts & Crafts Fair at the Beckley Raleigh Co. Convention Center.

Our hearts are broken as our dear friend and the Appalachian Festival Mrs. Queen, Tracy Hatfield, has gone to be with the Lord this evening. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was infectious and her laughter filled a room. She will be missed greatly everyday by so many! Please pray for her family as she leaves behind a husband and two young children.
