First time with tables outside on such a great day. My biggest fan got a book inside and then found me set up outside and was excited to tell it was her last day in nyc for now and my first day out past the winter. Synching the synchronized. Every time.

Our new little home right next door in the wine tasting room of Temperance Wine Bar at 40 Carmine Street. Plus Tables outside on sidewalk weekends or reasonable weather permitting. They named a wine cocktail “Unoppressive Non-Imperialist Americano”

The original forerunner of Unoppressive Non-Imperialist Bargain Books. This is the site of The Unknown Obscure Little Book Shop in Manhattan Beach in 1975. A year later we started the High Times Book shop on spring street called New Morning in Soho. 45 years after that Unoppressive was born in 1991. The irrepressible bodhisattva bookseller re-emerging as needed until the whole human earth finally gets it.

This set of 10 Shakespeare quote cards has only two cards that read, “I would not wish any COMPANION in the world but you.” I guess you can always make companion plural “companions” and send both cards to two people for Valentine’s Day. Imagine if there weee 10 the same. One guy got two sets for 5 bucks each. But the best deal is when a couple steps in and each sends one of the two same cards to each other. A happy Valentine’s Day is had by all.
