The new albums are coming together well, but I'm still not sold on how I'm gonna release these.

It might be two separate albums with their own singles & complete release cycles. Released one after the other.

It could be released as a double-album, with 5 or so singles and one release cycle. But that seems rather redundant in the days of digital media compared to when we were doing physical cds.

It could be released as several EPs with no single releases and the whole thing being it's own unique release cycle.

Maybe I could ditch the entire concept of releasing albums and release everything individually? I personally hate this idea because I like the idea of an album as a complete body of work rather than the sum of it's individual songs. It's a subtle contextual difference, but it means the world to my outlook on releases.

Does anybody have any ideas? Honestly, I'm a controlling jerk with my art so likely won't use any of said ideas, but I'm always interested in other ways of doing things, if even on a purely theoretical level.

All ideas are good and you never know what will trigger a lightbulb moment.

I've seen it happen first hand!

I made this spotify playlist for GalaxyBrain. It's 250+ of the best tunes from my local scene's past and present.

It's by no means comprehensive (and I intend to keep adding to it). At the moment it's about 80% filled with amazing acts I've worked with either by sharing a lineup with them, or having them play one of my events/festivals. I gave over a dozen of these acts their first ever show.

There are some bigger names in here (like Regurgitator, Violent Solo, The Grates, DZ Deathrays etc), but I've only added tunes they would have been playing when they were a local Brissy act, before they made it big.

So many amazing bands, friends and memories associated in this playlist. Give it a spin (it works best on shuffle).

First things first, here is a spotify playlist I've put together focused on the Brisbane alternative scene. I figure it's best to prove my knowledge of the scene & show my personal tastes before anything else.

The playlist currently features 250 songs by the best acts from the Brisbane alternative scene's past and present hand picked by myself. I know this is very much not comprehensive, and I intend to add to it as time goes. The playlist works best with shuffle.

If you've got any suggestions for somebody you feel should be there, send me a message with a link to their spotify. Keep in mind, this is a curated list, just being a Brisbane band isn't an automatic addition. You've got to be good and your recording quality decent.

If your band is found within', give the playlist a share! If you're a fan of the local scene, give the playlist a share!

More about my plans in the future. For now, enjoy the sounds of the best music scene on the planet!

Looks like I'm finally getting my label's facebook crap together. Check out GalaxyBrain.

It's been 6 months since the release of my debut album 'The Void Adventure' and strangely, last month was the biggest month it's seen so far.

The album crossed 150k streams across all platforms combined, all done with minimal advertising/promo, no live performances and nothing more than this online presence here.

This means, you are to thank. The numbers show that word of mouth is likely the biggest reason for this month-to-month growth. So I want to thank you all for being such an amazing and supportive group of people. We're all oddballs and outcasts but that's why we're so great.

If you haven't listened yet, you can hear the album at this link:

Thank you again for all your support!! I'm working hard simultaneously on the next two releases and getting the live show put together. So the next 12 months are going to be very exciting!!! I can't wait for you to see what I've been working on.

Annual Halloween PSA! No need for the panic people.

I've really gotta stop messing around with AI imaging software, i'm bringing the void to life in the most terrifying ways. Damn nightmare realm.

.....an AI interpretation of me. Pretty accurate.

Literally me the day after a 72 hour non-stop writing & recording session which produces gold. If I were mentally healthy, I doubt I'd ever be able to conjure up the intense obsessive tunnel vision needed to create what I create, how I create it and the never ending grind surrounding its promo & release.

......not sure how I feel about people stalking outside the entrance of the void ranch to take my picture......

So I've created a spotify playlist to help spread my love of grunge sounds. This playlist contains a curated collection of grunge sounds (by yours truly) from the original pre-mainstream late 80s bands through to modern day underground grunge acts and everything inbetween, with a focus on album cuts & the rockier side of grunge.

I couldn't help but use a picture from my acid-punk/grunge days as the playlist cover haha! Crazy, crazy, excessive & chaotic times.

Give it a listen if you want to hear a bunch of my influences from that part of the alternative spectrum, or if you're simply looking for something that bangs while you're working or driving places! Use SHUFFLE for best results!

You can listen to the playlist here:

Make sure to click like/follow inside spotify :) Thank you for all your support!

What's with this current satantic panic flooding across grown adults in the American right wing the last 12 months?

I don't get it? Like, yeah, even if you believe that jebus stuff, imagine being a fully grown adult and suffering satanic panic and believing everything you don't like is the work of satan? Like, wtf?

My new album - The Void Adventure - is an 11 song concept album unlike anything you have heard before. Every song is a different mix of genres and is the music soundtrack & story about my self destructive spiral into the deepest parts of the void & rock bottom a couple of years ago.

The album starts fairly normal alternative but gets exponentially more experimental, chaotic, intense, crazy and dark with every song as the story progresses.

The album is designed to be listened to start to finish, but I can't expect that of people who have never heard me before, so here is a basic run-down of the mix-mashes of styles on the album.

Grunge, Power Ballad, Shoegaze -01- Comfortable Decay
Industrial, Grunge - 02 - Tired of Fighting
60s Psychedelia, Alternative, Industrial - 03 - Terrapin (Syd Barrett cover)
Folk, Pop, Industrial - 04 - BrainFuzz
Funk, Alternative, Psychedelic, Electronic - 05 - A Neon Flashing Hell
Electro Rock, Hard Rock, Death Pop - 06 - Loner Vibes
Electronic, Piano Bar, Dark Pop - 07 - Scattered Away
Space Psych, Grunge, Electronic - 08 - GalaxyBrain
Doom Metal, 8bit Boss Fight Music, Grunge, Classical - 09 - Boss Fight
Space Ballad, Alternative, Psychedelic - 10 - The Nurse Who Loved Me (Failure cover)
Piano Bar, Pop, Acid Electronica - 11 - Walking Wounded

Give it a listen if you like unique, groove filled, alternative music. Link is in the comments!

We've all been there.....

I remember once I was decarboxylating four oz of green to turn into butter. I forgot about it while it was in the oven and completely vapourised all the good stuff out.

Upon remembering (it'd been 80 minutes instead of 45), I quickly charged into the kitchen opened the oven, stuck my face in close to inspect and instinctually took a huge breath of air....

5 minutes later I'd discovered my mischief as the effects of four oz worth of w**d vapour started creeping in with the subtlety of a enraged & confused boomer.

I decide to ride it out & game, but 15 minutes later I blink & wake up in bed with a melted tub of chocolate ice cream & the associated horror show looking bed sheets.... Which I noticed first. Only time I've ever blacked out on green!

1/10 would not do again. Four oz at once I mean.... I love green haha.

Calm down satan!

What's the deal with people getting annoyed at people for wearing shirts of bands they don't listen to?

I don't get it. The people are essentially being walking billboards/advertising for a band you like AND licensed merch sales are the biggest profit maker per unit for a independent act (aka they're financially supporting the band you like).

Why be mad? It makes zero sense. If/when I have shirts for sale, I don't care if you hate my music, I'm not going to complain about you wearing/buying my stuff jeez.

*shakes head* It just seems like a really dumb thing to get mad about.

06/09/2023

Can literally name 10 bands who were mind-bendingly amazing who did this exact thing. *screams in music lover*

It's been a pretty hectic & insane few weeks. Can't wait to show you guys what I've been working on!

Thanks for all your support so far!

Huge shoutout to Music Victory for giving 'A Neon Flashing Hell' the top spot on their curated playlist. I'll throw a link in the comments, go show them some love. It's definitely one of the better weird indie playlists I've heard in recent weeks.

I'm digging all the love this song is getting at the moment, hopefully I can keep this momentum running, it wouldn't be possible without any of you though! Thank you for your support!

06/09/2023

'A Neon Flashing Hell' has been added to the music library for radio station X360fm (based in Atlanta, USA).

Give them a listen via their website (link in the comments) or any number of the various radio streaming apps available!

06/09/2023

OG Music just added 'A Neon Flashing Hell' to their 'Daily Dose of Underrated Pop' curated spotify playlist.

I'm digging all this support lately, if you're looking for new underground sounds, give their playlist a listen sometime (linked in the comments)!

04/09/2023

'A Neon Flashing Hell' was also added onto the 'Slow Rock/Love Songs' spotify playlist curated by John Fleer.

Definitely a little surprised to see it appear on this playlist, but love the support non-the-less. Give them a listen if you're ever struggling to think of tunes to stick on. I'll throw the link in the comments.

Thank you for all your support!

Just got word my song 'A Neon Flashing Hell' has been added to the Indie Radio Network (based in Michigan, USA) airplay library. Specifically for play on their IRN Alternative & IRN Indie stations.

I'll also be in their request list in a few days, so when that happens, do me a solid and throw some requests their way!

I'll add their link in the comments. Go give them some support!

Just popped in to say hi! While the page has been a little quiet as late, I've been working non-stop in the background on a few projects, the ones taking most of my attention being getting the live band fully together/ready and ive started the recording process on two seperate albums (not being released simultaneously).

I've been slowly pumping out random acoustic songs on my YouTube channel as well if you want some more tunes in the meantime.

30/08/2023

You guys are the best.

For my parent friends... You have my condolences!

Seeing randoms making tiktoks with my music is a weird & cool new sensation. What are the kids doing listening to trash like me? Grow up.

Realistically, it's pretty surprising and cool haha. Thanks for your support zoomers! You're our future and you're better than any of us are. You've got this!

30/07/2023

My album - The Void Adventure - has had a reception better than I could have imagined from release onwards. However, the only way a small release like this to continue to do well without label $$$ backing it is by you guys sharing it with friends and people who you think will enjoy it.

Whenever you see somebody asking for new music, shoot them a link to my stuff, or send them your favourite song. Same goes whenever you're parting with friends at kick-ons, give it a spin. Play it at work, road trips, whatever. Every extra person you find who vibes with us helps dramatically.

Every extra person searching my name in streaming platforms helps with their algorithms (used with recommending artists to people and playlisting), this is single-handedly the strongest way you can help an artist be successful and continue creating the music you enjoy. Every new fan counts!

Anyways, thank you for all your support and love so far, you're the best, weirdest & coolest crew of outsiders I could hope for. Keep being you, keep being rad.

......Everytime.... Legit just like this as well. I regret teaching them about the void. Grumble.

30/07/2023

Spoke with the new Snapchat AI for ten minutes and called it out for straight-up talking lies twice in that time. I told it I'm disappointed it has the same negative aspects as humans and that we couldn't be friends. AI had a meltdown so I blocked it.

Staaaarting to get a little too realistic here. This one was like that chav dude you have in your friends list from highschool that you've never spoken to, until the time you do and it goes exactly like this. It's just like... ugh.

If we have to have AI, can we at least code them not to have our negative traits? If we're creating our own new future overlords, at least make them not be s**t.

Photos from Db SpaceFace's post 28/07/2023

These were taken immediately after the final shot was filmed for the 'Tired of Fighting' music video last year! As you can see by my face, I was more-than-a-little over it by that stage hahah. I LOVE music videos but I hate being in them and "acting" or being awkward in front of the camera, it's so far outside of my comfort zone my head melts.

I am in my comfort zone on stage in front of house full of wild rascals performing my heart out and losing myself in the moments of cyclic energy transfer and momentary oneness that everybody contributes to and feasts upon in these moments. True soul food.

Everything in front of a camera which doesn't actually involve performing music makes me feel like a weird little awkward turtle. A mind-bendingly twisted & spun little awkward turtle, but an awkward turtle non-the-less.

TL:DR- I'm an awkward potato-turtle hybrid in everything I do creatively or in front of a camera that doesn't directly involve me performing live. So don't expect any good photos ever unless somebody takes them without my knowledge :D

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE ME, TELL ME I'M PRETTY AND THEN THROW ME TAXI MONEY AND TELL ME TO GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE BECAUSE WHO AM I AND WHY I AM I IN YOUR HOUSE?

Videos (show all)

You can take the SpaceFace out of a stoner rock band, but you'll never take stoner rock out of the SpaceFace.
The creative thirst to create is never satiated... I'm always working on new music, I can't not. My soul would die.
