I’ve just uploaded a 30-minute tutorial to my YouTube channel on how to recreate ‘my version of the Blade Runner sound’ on the Prophet Rev2. This one was requested by multiple people over the past year. If you use the patch in your music, please tag / contact me - I’d love to hear what you do with it.
Day 28 of : I wanted to experiment with some sounds on the and this is what I came up with. I’m always pleasantly surprised by how good the reverb on the Digitakt sounds. Bell sounds inspired by . Full jam on YouTube!
Day 26 of : I started this jam by trying to create a patch that sounds similar to what I’ve heard do. I’m not sure I succeeded, but I’m happy with what I ended up with. Drums and sequencing on the , bass on the .fx . Full jam on YouTube!
Day 24 of : this thing on the . Full thing on YouThing.

In the middle of yesterday’s brutal jam is this section, like an oasis in an industrial wasteland. This synth sound on the is from one of ’s fantastic packs, with a healthy dose of shimmer from the .
Day 22 of : Using some massive tape-saturated samples from .ms’ “Bea.ts” pack - make sure you listen to this one on a good pair of speakers or headphones - the full jam is on my YouTube channel. Also features samples from and SFX from . I’m so happy with the as a stereo sampler - that’s a big plus over the Digitakt. There’s a second part to this jam that is completely different - I’ll share that in a next post.
Day 20 of : Trying out the new v3 oscillators by , in this case the harmonic one, with spacial fx from the . I love how the ’s sequencer and grid encourage me to break out of a standard 4 step/measure/bar pattern. Bass from the .fx . Sidechain compression on the pad and bass using the , triggered by the Deluge. The drum samples are from the pack. Tiny vocal sample is from the a capella version of ’s “My Future”.

Day 18 of : I've been listening to a lot recently, this is clearly inspired by his sound. I think this flavor of is so hard to make - in my opinion it's all about finding the right balance between subtlety and intensity. This is the first time I've used the MIDI loopback trick on the : I have an LFO on a MIDI track controlling a parameter of another track.
The full jam is on my YouTube channel!
Day 17 of : It's surprisingly easy to create a patch on the .fx that sounds like you're summoning alien whales. This is mainly tweaking the filter, but the most prominent effect is the stereo chorus with a LOT of feedback. Reverb is also from the Typhon (is pretty good right?!).
The full 10-minute video is on my YouTube channel.
Day 16 of : I hooked my up to the , and and to experiment with combining an acoustic instrument with digital effects. The is sequencing the by switching between the loop channel (env mode) and wet channel (slip mode). The kalimba is recorded using the Tascam DR-05.
Day 14 of : I got a super dusty sound out of the by running it through 2 delays at 100% wet. This why you see me playing notes but hear them a beat later. The is sequencing the , including the and vinyl crackle.
Day 13 of : revisiting this patch on the with which I opened last year’s . Reverb from the (off-screen).
Day 12 of : a battle between digital ( ) and analog (.fx ) ! The goes through the , and . I think I went to a club once where the music was like this. My vision then was probably as blurry as my camera's is here. Full jam on YouTube!
Day 11 of : just like last year, I sampled and used it in this jam. I used by to isolate the vocals from her video, which worked surprisingly well. The full jam is on my YouTube channel!
Oh and yes: I missed 2 days of Jamuary. Caught up on sleep and spent some time with friends and family. It was nice.
Day 8 of : I recently recorded my dad playing his and loaded the samples into the , which supports multisampling. It’s interesting to play an acoustic instrument like this. Subtle reverb from the . Full sleepy jam on my YouTube channel.
Here’s another clip of yesterday’s jam. I’m amazed the synth engine can make sounds like this. From the awesome packs by ! The whole jam sounds a lot better on a good set of speakers, check out the full video on my YouTube channel.
Day 7 of : a jam on the , with this synth patch called “FM beauty”, from the fantastic “Boards of Deluge” pack by . The bass patch is based on an sample by .ms, and the is hooked up to the and .
Day 6 of : playing the and .fx at the same time. The MIDI and audio output of the MF are going into the Typhon. I’m using scale mode on the MF to create interesting . Reverb by the .
Day 5 of : what’s your favorite color? Sequencing the ’s speech oscillator with the . By setting a random LFO to the ‘word’ parameter, the MF will say a different color every time! Bass on the , samples by .
Day 4 of . 4 tracks of recorded on a on the , going through 2x delay, which sounds nice and dusty at 100% wet. The Rubberneck has a send/return, which is hooked up to the so it adds reverb to the repeats.

So this is what comes after that calm intro of yesterday’s jam: some raw jungle! This is actually the first time I’ve used drum loops in my hardware jams - usually I use one-shot drum samples, but this genre is defined by its signature loops. The sequences the drums, which I scramble in real-time using the . The filthy bass line comes from the .fx , sequenced by the .
Full jam on my YouTube channel!
Day 3 of : the intro of this jam is very calm, but the rest of it is not. You’re listening to the : the main synth sound is based on a warbly Moog sample from one of .ms’ sample packs, and the flutey synth is from one of the fantastic “Boards of Deluge” synth packs. The reverb comes from the .
If you’re curious what comes after this - how I use , and - check out the full jam on my YouTube channel.
Second clip of yesterday’s jam, which highlights the nasty bass sound on the .fx . The tremolo-like effect comes from the “cloud” reverb on the Typhon. Main melody on the , sequenced by the .
I recommend checking out the full jam on my YouTube channel with headphones.
Day 2 of : this melody on the . The MF is sequenced by my brand new , which also plays the background noise samples. The bass is played by my brand new .fx . Oh and yes, that’s TWO delays.
I recommend checking out the full jam on my YouTube channel with headphones.
It’s that time again! is my 4th time participating in this event, curious to see what the month will bring!
For this first entry on the I decided to use samples with a lot of noise in them, both for the drums and melodic tracks. Almost all samples are from 2 packs: Tape Haze III by .ms and ’s contest samples of earlier this year.

For the final example of my demo for the I started with a on the through the , because I wanted to mainly sidechain that with ghost kicks. But once that was going I decided to add a bass sample to it on the . The result is a long jam with a sinister vibe, which I think is fitting for the time.
The full demo is on my YouTube channel, links at abeldebeermusic.com
We recently used the in a jam. We’re triggering its with , by routing the kick’s drum gate out on the to the CV input on the .
In this second example of my demo for the I’ve set a long release for the envelope, and combined with maximum depth, it creates this extreme effect. At the end of the clip you can hear the effect without the kick sound, because I’m triggering the with MIDI from the . The pad is played on the , going through 3 effects pedals to thicken up the sound. The bass comes from the .
In the first part of my demo of the I use pretty standard settings with this house beat, as an example of this typical sound. Stab chord on the , bass on the , drums and sequencing (including the sidechain trigger) on the .
Check out my demo for the , a.k.a. “not Another Boring Compressor”. It allows you to trigger its through or , among other options. The full video on my YouTube channel (link in bio) features four musical examples of how you can use its functionality.

Final clip of my demo for the , in which I integrate it into my full hardware setup. In this example I’m using it as a stutter / beat mangler effect on the drums (Digitakt). In the full video on my YouTube channel I also show the difference when using it on the master mix. Congrats to the guys of alter.audio for successfully reaching the goal of their Kickstarter campaign!
One of the experimental features of the that I show in my 30-minute demo is the “slice mode”. You record a loop which is distributed over the 8 top buttons, so that you can play something new by tapping them. You can still change tempo resolutions (1/4, 1/8, 1/16) for the slices. I show some more experimental features in the full video on my YouTube channel. There’s less than 2 hours left to back the Kickstarter project, so check it out!
I decided to use this super annoying little loop to properly demonstrate how the allows you to restructure your audio in real-time. I explain the basics and more exotic features of the device in my full video on YouTube. The Timetosser Kickstarter campaign ends this Wednesday, so head over there if you’re interested!
I’ve just uploaded my demo / tutorial of alter.audio’s on my YouTube channel. It allows you to completely reconstruct the connected audio in real-time while playing it, in a way that’s different from existing gear. I explain the basics, demonstrate some experimental features and show how you can integrate it into a hardware / dawless setup, including MIDI syncing. There’s a few days left on their Kickstarter campaign, so check it out if you’re interested!
I’ve just uploaded a 40-minute tutorial to my YouTube channel in which I explain how to create a reese bass patch on the . I’ve used this sound quite a lot in my recent jams. I’m open to any feedback or suggestions, please let me know what you think!

Let’s rewind to day 7 of , when I made one of my favourite jams of the month. I’m very happy with the (listen on proper speakers / headphones to hear the subby dubby bass), the programmed sequences on the and the performance. I remember feeling unusually comfortable while recording this - I took my time to experiment and get into the flow of the song. Fun fact: one of the sounds is based on a recording of , and I made a random LFO on the Digitakt pick a new playback point every time the sound was triggered, meaning you’ll almost never hear the exact same sound twice.
The full 13-minute long jam is on my YouTube channel!
On day 6 of I tweaked a patch on the that I made. One LFO is influencing the speed of another LFO, resulting in the shifting pattern.
Check out the full video on my YouTube channel!
On day 5 of I used the to record some semi-random notes and chords on the . The goes through the , which adds the warble to the sound. I then shuffled the recorded and added a to it. I ended up using the same piano samples 2 more times, on day 12 and 20.
