Just keep pushing !

This video was taken a week ago during the campaign. I saved it as a reminder of our collective push during a challenging time. It wasn't easy for 3 men to push a commercial truck up lifted driveway but we did it!
At least I know, I can always help to push forward. I can either help others or myslef. Either way, we must go on !

I did not feel the need to feed my pride by sharing the things I do right during the campaign. I'm not perfect just like everyone else and It's clear that our voice still needs a tune up. I make mistakes but this campaign was not one.

This campaign wasn't about highlighting things to make me look good. It was about pushing our collective voice into the light and believe me, we are being heard. I'm still pushing and I hope that whether or no you agreed with us, that you are motivated to push your own voice into the light to make a positive change in your community.

Sometimes we have to be bold to help others. I risked my life without hesitation. I was lucky to know everyone who I did this for.

I took off last night to catch up with Joe on his campaign trail.

Regardless, of our results. I hope that it's apperant that all those that are running are interconnected. This campaign season will forever be in history books for our national and local politics.

I am honored to have my name in the history books this year.

By the way, our campaign is still going strong .This was only the beginning. We are growing and the best is yet to come.

Thank you to those that got the vote out.

P.s
I met Joe Biden when he was the vice president. This pic was back in 2016. I don't vote for people I haven't met.

Warning: Leaving public comments at city council does not win elections.

However, creating work history on diverse issues and elevating a collective strategy to address them does.

I took the oath to take my civic engagement to the next level. This one is for you !

This is a official document (unforged). However, let me tell you why it actually isn't worth any value to this race.

I spoke too much truth about democratic politics displacing true progressive candidates in Coachella Valley. Clearly there is political partisan interest from outside union organizations to impact the outcomes of our local races. Yet , there was no value in grass roots community organizing from the " Inland Empire council".

However, the knowledge of my political power in my grass roots efforts in Indio from our local unions pushed an endorsement. Looking at it from the outside of Indio, so called progressive IE union leaders were influenced by a political bias and decided to revoke my endorsement. This outside influence dictates our local unions on who they can endorse and support. Thier decision ultimately displaces the most progressive candidate in this race which is me. (It really doesnt matter to me because thier endorsed candidates aren't always elected).

The local unions in the Coachella Valley can attest to my union organizing skills and history with them in Indio. I have been organizing with unions since 2015. No endorsement or person is ever going to validate that for me and I don't need it to.

If you look at the date you can see that I have been organizing my campaign since before July. Meanwhile, another candidate was still being selected by our local congressman to run in this race. I'm dropping headlines on the people and organizations who purposefully choose to displace me by placing politics over purpose.

Our city council seats should be filled with leaders with a proven history and purpose in serving the people in the city they are running in. It should not include people who are only placed by politics. That's why city council seats are non-partisan. Our people deserve better.

To be clear, no one in this race recieved any endorsements from unions. Thier decision to not support is very unfortunate, we could have been celebrating a victory together.

I am deeply honored to announce my endorsement from the Vice-president of the Desert Healthcare District, Karen Borja.

Karen is someone who knows the power of our grassroots organizing. I am humbled to know that she is somone who sees thorugh the lack of financial and political support in this campaign and recognizes me for my true ability to lead.

I have had the pleasure to work alongside Karen to support many grass efforts to uplift and empower our displaced communities in the Coachella Valley. Karen is someone who reminds me to remain humble every step of the way. @ Indio, California

Downtown Orlando getting outdoor theater, will host 6-month festival 27/10/2020

Other cities across the state and nation have began to look into thier future of live events and culture. Why can't Indio begin to have these open conversations about our local entertainment industry?

I'll tell you why.
Simply because there is no candidate or council memeber who can lead these production efforts like I have. It begin many years ago. :)

Let's see other candidates try and copy that on thier campaign. All of a sudden candidates are community organizers and public and mental health advocates in Indio. The people can't be lied to. Our work has public history with no secret agendas. Please research each candidate's public work history in Indio. It wasn't like " I popped up out of nowhere" . We've been here and will still be here after the election.

Downtown Orlando getting outdoor theater, will host 6-month festival Orlando’s getting a new theater — outdoors, in the heart of downtown. And it will host a new festival, planned to light up the city with six months of live entertainment.

Let's take a moment to recognize the impact of out local arts and culture in Indio. The concert "Chella" highlights local soulful latin artists and allows them to perform with major latino headlining bands. I have worked with the staging companies to produce Chella since it's inception 3 years ago. However, this only gives some local artists access to fully equiped productions year round. As the city of festivals, we must do our part to provide world class event productions for local voices and artists. Safe event production is possible and as a city we should explore safe protocols for the future of our events in Indio. Right now, we are at a stand still and we need a restart in our live event industry. County Board Supervisor Perez, Indio City Council members Waymond and Oscar share the same enthusiasm for our local arts and culture. With my background in the live event industry, I can help lead a strategy for health modifications for the future of our live events.

I am very proud of my dear friends, Gissele Woo and the Night Owls for growing and representing for our local artists. Also shout out to the Eastern Coachella Valley band, Ocho Ojos for performing the first year at Chella.

Working on the weekend like usual 🎶
I don't post our canvassing, mainly because we have been canvassing since August. Our hard work doesn't need social validation on social media, it needs it from the people who live in our local communities. These aren't new efforts. This is just the icing on the cake. Some one hit your block up? I'll tell you if it was us.

Residents in the pictures are reporting about other candidate's signs mysteriously popping up in thier lawn without consent this election. Anyway they threw those out and put up our artwork up. 9 days away until the election.

The California Senate floor!

Here is where our state legislation comes to life. I had the opportunity to shadow some of our state representatives at the state senate floor. I have access because I am meant to be there. The universe calls me to places where I can make the most impact. Our city and state are interconnected and I have worked with both simultaneously. I am the only candidate in district 5 that has been on this level to impact state and local city policies for health and human services.

I support to improve that impact the city of Indio, county and our state. comes from working on the issues with the community, not from people or organizations that think they have . You won't see other candidates in this race supporting these issues or events.

I'm in the community talking to residents and still present at the Indio City Council meeting. What a year to to take part in civic engagement. You can tell it's campaign season by how smoothly today's meeting went. Candidates all glamed up and pretending like they care. I mean, they do care.... to get re-elected. Where was all the positive energy the rest of the year ?

I have no concerns for tonight's meeting. I can honestly say that the deliberation of today's items by each council member was in the best interest of our residents (Let's count our blessings). It was city budget talks per usual( I know, sexy). However, I am sad to report that the city of festivals will not take ownership of this years "Tamale Festival" but instead will allow the tribe to produce their own Tamale Festival production. I wouldn't give up on researching " Productions with health modifications (Juss saying).

By they way, don't you think that it's important to be engaged with the city council meetings while your a first time candidate? I've seen other first time candidates in other districts take part of council meetings. I've been on public comment way too much, im glad they're tired of me.

Don't juss talk about the change, be the change.

Women empowerment!
As an active servent to public health. Women's health is one of the biggest issues I continue work on in Indio and the Eastern Coachella Valley. I have put my collective organizing skills to support events such as Women's Day at Coachella Valley Art Center, Women Rising at Indio Performing Arts Center and The Women's March.

As an organizer for the Womens March, we had originally planned for the Women's March to take place in Indio. However, we were hit with major road blocks from the city. We were treated unfairly with high city fees and expensive permits. We reached out to the city of Coachella and they welcomed us with open arms. Let's work on bringing this event that empowers women of color, LGTBQ women and indigenous women in the city of Indio.

One of the organizers Jonathon, took it one step further and organized arts and culture during the week of the Women's March and ended it with concert with local artists Gissile Woo and the Night Owls and the Sol Suns.

Hello Beautiful Indio!
I had a wonderful time spending the morning at in the food 4 less shopping center. I was able to speak to the small businesses owner who has been open for over 20 years. Amid Covid, she has been struggling to keep sales up but says "Thanks to my devoted clients in this community, I am able to stay afloat. Sales arent what they used to be but I am happy to still serve the clients" She also mentions that in third world countries they have full body sanitation stations to help combat the spread of the virus and wishes the city of Indio would begin to help small business owners with robust sanitation equipment. I am also happy to have her personal endorsement for our campaign.

Fun fact: Beautiful Indio is the #1 healthcare uniform provider in Indio. Helping our healthcare industry stay fresh

Art is thought provoking

I am honored to have lifetime support from some of the greatest artist who create political change in the Eastern Coachella Valley. It's not just an endorsement, it's an art work of empowerment.

Together we are uplifting a artisit community and a creative voice in a multi billion dollar industry that leaves the voice of the local grass roots artist voiceless. The odds were never in our favor, yet through our collective creativity we are creating a supportive and creative environment beyond the commercial arts. Our art is bold and raw and if it has provoked feeling then we are doing our jobs. It is obvious that this is not traditional political campaign and that I am not a traditional candidate. This is an art expression for change by an artist that has been creating changes in our local health matters. Thank you to everyone who is sharing the art. Together in District 5 , we are the artist and craetors of our local future. Your canavss is your ballot.

I want to thank renowned artists YaYa, Ruben and the Gonzalez family for believing in my artwork, our artwork, your artwork. Remember that the real art happens when we vote on November 3rd.

I walked through the neighborhoods of Indio and got to know many residents. Little did I know I would be knocking on the same doors now asking for thier vote. It was an easy transition because the residents still recognize me. It's been an honor having a solid history on building this great city. It's not too late, it takes less then 10 minutes.
