Sonoma County Cut + Color! Lytles Beauty College Student
THE ANDROGYNY HAIRCUT!!!!
A little wispy, a little edgy, and a TON of personality! My client came in after growing his hair for about 8months and had a heavy helmet shape weighing down his look. We added lots of layers in the crown and fringe but left lots of length while he continues to grow that hair!

All Colors Fade!
Back in December(6months ago), my sister decided to try out some BRIGHT vivids! We talked about how to preserve her color since she does not live near enough to me to refresh her color often. Here’s a few things she did to preserve the color and embrace the fading!
1. COLD WATER 🥶 - if it’s not giving you brain freeze it’s not cold enough! Warm water opens the cuticle letting the color wash away!
2. Spacing out shampoo - depending on how much oil your scalp produces you can stretch the time in between shampoos with dry shampoo and updo styles. (My sister washes every 3 days)
3. Color safe shampoo - color safe shampoos are gentler on color while still cleaning the hair, look in your shower and avoid clarifying shampoos when you have vivids.
4. Embrace the Fade - all color fades so it’s important to just enjoy all the beautiful shades and tones that appear. Confidence lives in you, not in your hair!
Let’s talk about color fading!
When using Semi-permanent it’s natural for color to fade. This is because we don’t use anything to life the cuticle, Semi-permanent just deposits color and usually requires the hair to be lightened to disrupt the natural pigment and make room for the artificial pigment! Semi-permanent color technically only lasts 8-10 washes, and thats why I stress the importance of color-safe shampoo and conditioner for my color clients! I also recommend trying to reduce how much you shampoo your hair, if you shampoo your hair every day then try every other day for two weeks then every two days and so on. With color safe products, reducing the amount of times you shampoo your hair, Heat protectant, and using less that 350 degrees on your hot tools you can extend your color longevity!
New year, new color for my sister! A deep violet to berry around the perimeter and a bright cherry red and pops of orange to brighten the ends! Swipe to the end to see her fade out from last time :)
