Just a woman born on Land Day | 3.30

As a Palestinian, having the same birthday as holds a special significance for me. March 30th is a day of both celebration and commemoration, marking the struggle for justice and the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people. It's a reminder that our fight for freedom and equality is ongoing. But on this day, I also celebrate my own life and the opportunities that have come my way. As a Palestinian with a voice, I will continue to speak up for my people and their rights. Happy Land Day to all the beautiful and resilient Palestinians! 🇵🇸

“Blistered Rose” 🥀

newest song gave me an excuse to post this work from 1/13/23 🌹

A rose from the garden I grew up in, at my Jido, Tata, and Amtos home in a little town in California.

I was staying at their home during my Amto’s unexpected health scare. 12/03/21 - Rain outside but I needed some air, drawn to the garden where I used to run between the rose shrubs to play around my favorite water fountain, to splash in and play tag around.

Roses, even the name Rose is deeply embedded in my family. My late grandmother whom I never met, named Rose.

The roses planted all around the front and backyard by my late Jido that continuously bloom year after year.

The roses my amto and tata call me over for to pick a bouquet for myself once they’ve started to bloom.

The roses of which I used to pick at the thorns of as a child, nervous of their sharp tips, but brave enough to brace the pain when I would get pierced.

The roses I dry and save from every bouquet gifted to me.

Roses, roses, roses.

“Be Longing, and Never Home” (2022 Digital Collage.

Thank you for joining me yesterday! I am so grateful to everyone who came to show their support and celebrate with me - love you and need you all 💖

My latest piece "Be, Longing and Never Home" was inspired by my longing for a connection to the land that my ancestors once thrived in, survived on, and were eventually displaced from.

I wanted this piece to include elements that represent my own personal life and touch on the collective experience of those who were displaced on this day May 15th during Al- Nakba (the catastrophe) in 1948. Zionist forces had taken more than 78 percent of historic Palestine, ethnically cleansed and destroyed about 530 villages and cities, and killed about 15,000 Palestinians in a series of mass atrocities, including more than 70 massacres from 1947-1949.

My dad’s side of the family were forced to flee their beautiful home and land on the sea in يافا (Yaffa) during the Nakba in 1948 and migrated to Amman, Jordan. For being indigenous to the land - Palestinians have been murdered, imprisoned, displaced from their homes, and ethnically cleansed by the settler colonial regime for the last 74 years.

Palestinians are still resisting the regime, brutal violence, harassment, torture and ethnic cleansing today, and this last week we all have witnessed the murder of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh at the hands of the evil, bloody, and cruel zionist settler colony.

Millions of Palestinians today are refugees and the diaspora are spread all around the world, we must collectively know that we will return to our land and liberate our people who are currently resisting the colonial entity. Through acts of physical resistance, community and support through education, art, music, writing, journalism, and media - we have the ability to expose the truth and fight for the liberation of our people.

Friends 💚 My latest piece "Be, Longing and Never Home" will be featured in from 5/14 - 6/18 in Cincinnati Ohio amongst 7 other talented q***r and women Palestinian artists' works!

Extremely grateful for the opportunities and doors this has opened up and only have Noel and Iman .artist.neighborhood to thank for this!

"Amid is the first collection of sentiments from q***r and women Palestinian artists brought to Cincinnati, Ohio from Palestine and the diaspora. Focusing on the in-between, the artists will connect to the bodies of land and water. Bringing artists together from across land and sea, the exhibition will celebrate both feminine and q***r identities in Palestinian culture and art. This project is meant to connect the Greater Cincinnati community with Palestinians, building a bridge and chance for collaboration between these two cultures."

Many more details coming soon! ✨

While I’m in Puerto Vallarta working on some commissions, I’ve collaborated with a local canvas stretcher and framer to get one of my largest paintings up and ready to hang! 🧿

As some of you may know, I offer canvas stretching services in the Bay Area at my studio, but since I’m traveling and don’t have my supplies - I’ve been reaching out to local artists and crafts people to assist me in completing my projects 💗

If you are interested in a custom piece or prints, please DM me or use the contact form on gfnXartist.com!  Looking forward to collaborating ✨

gfn X día de mu***os

Extremely grateful to be in Mexico to experience this beautiful cultural tradition. It makes me reflect on how my own culture truly has not embraced death as part of our cycle and has a completely different way of honoring loved ones. It’s definitely taboo and almost nonexistent to be so vulnerable to the topic of death in Arab culture.

One thing I’ve adopted for honoring those who’ve passed, as well as my ancestors is asking them to come along with me on my adventures and travels. Your spirit guides deserve to be invited into both mundane and adventurous tasks. I ask my spirit guides to join me on long car rides or trips to the park, to watch the sunset, cooking a traditional meal, anything really! It’s a way to honor them and acknowledge that you’re able to feel their presence and want them to join you in experiencing joy 🌞

See how making that intention changes your own experience and helps you embrace the present moment❣️

Cute commission for a modern beach apartment elevated the entire room’s style by adding framed photographs! (See last photo for before, previous paintings by me in 2017)

This photo series comes from a color-trial palette for a larger abstract painting I am working on. I fell in love with the colors and the textures, hues, and marbled-fossil look of these acrylic mediums and just had to photograph them! These two photos were my favorite and work perfectly for this room, bringing in more color and complex dimension.

I love creating unique and stylish pieces for clients' homes and am extremely grateful for those who believe in my vision and let my creativity run free.

Don’t limit yourself or your home to one style or medium! Decorating with framed digital photos, painted canvases, wood, and metal wall pieces add dimension and eye-pleasing variety to your home while supporting multiple artists and artistic styles!

If you are interested in custom or larger prints of any of the pieces or prints that are not listed on my website, please DM me or use the contact form on gfnXartist.com! Looking forward to collaborating ❣️

It’s been brought to my attention that many of you are wanting to create but are not able to give yourself the time and energy to because of self-limiting beliefs.

One of the most common self-limiting belief most people convince themselves of is that they are not “creative” beings.

I would like to remind you all that you are all creations and have all the creativity in the palms of your hands and in the eyes of your heart.

If you are afraid of judgement, that is just your perfectionist mindset that is judging - no one else. And if others are really willing to harshly criticize or judge you for the way you so choose to create, well they too are projecting because they too don’t give themselves the beauty of creation and the freedom to express themselves through art.

We all have something unique to share with others, our own stories, experiences and interpretations. Don’t you ever think you aren’t a creator, we have been created to create.

Do with that as you choose 💖

Very happy to have stumbled upon this building again!!

In 2016 I took a photo of one of the beautiful doors (slide to see) which was the background on my phone for a very long time. For the life of me I could not remember what street it was on, then I come to find out it’s at the end of my favorite streets that I like to shop around on and pick up baked goods from! Last weekend I drove to Schubert’s after Ocean Beach and found it again ✨ The reason I haven’t been able to find it is because I only discovered it during a short walk from a bus transfer that I took once to the golden gate bridge from Park Presidio.

Anyways, I’m going to be working with the images I took for another digital project and just wanted to share a little tidbit about how some of my projects manifest from my experiences. Stay curious and keep exploring, happy Sunday 💖🏛

“Where You Are”
Hyper-edited digital photograph

If you're wondering if I have an obsession with columns, you're right - but of course it's more than that.

"…Neoteric Renaissance is quite simply, the emergence of decolonization and individual liberation represented through the current and existing molds of the art world. Existing structures of these civilizations that once ruled over the span of centuries should strike all with the harsh reality of what once was, and still is…”

Stop 🛑 policing women about their bodies and how they wear their hair

I remember growing up people always told me to straighten my hair, to lose weight or to shave my unibrow 🥴

Well guess what, these camel lashes are REAL, this hair has NO products in it and my eyebrows have not been touched in 10 years (eyebrow appointments WHO) and my ass is all natural fat and muscle 🍑

Everything that set me apart from the people around me is everything they wanna have now. That’s when i realized their policing was a reflection of who they wished they could be - me.

You want the thick brows, thick curly hair, thick thighs and ass but you can’t even embrace me and my culture?

This year i’ve focused on maintaining and cultivating relationships and friendships with those who are COMMITTED to understanding me and who I am.

Misogynists, homophobes, transphobes, fatphobes - you know where the unfollow button is 😘

Photos are not retouched or edited, I’m committed to being transparent about when I do edit my photos.

It’s Juneteenth and two things that are incredibly important to me and my studio are community support and mutual aid! I believe that the only answer going forward in reparations and charitable donations should be given via

I’m SO excited to share that $3,361 was donated in 2020! Most of this aid went to Black and QTPOC, Lebanese families effected by the 2020 bombing, as well as families in California who were impacted by the fires.

I know this year I'll be donating at least double that! With every purchase you make on my site, 15% of profits will be donated back into the community - whether that is through direct mutual aid or by providing assistance to in the !

Thank you to everyone so far who has ordered a print, commissioned me or have supported my creativity thus far 🙏

I’m really looking forward to the new work I’ll be able to do now that my art studio is in the Arts + Entertainment District in Historic Downtown Vallejo! Can’t wait to share what my next plans are to give back to my ✨
