New house, who dis? A lot of work ahead to get this one how we want, but I’m looking forward to having it. Pretty legit mowing for a supervised 7-year-old, right?💪🏻🤙🏻

Got the yard cleaned up for Mom before we head home. Guess we’ll call these drought conditions, lol. It’s wicked hot in middle TN right now. Thankfully it’s mostly common bermuda and will bounce back with a little bit of rain.

We needed to patch a small area for the border around the circle drive, so we took a little field trip down to the local sod farm with the kids to pick up a few pieces. They didn’t have any available by the piece, and I didn’t need a whole pallet. They were kind enough to let us check out one of the recently cut fields where we bought some leftover scrap pieces for our project.
I’m impressed with the drought and shade tolerance of this grass variety, so we’ll do a little direct comparison with it and the Celebration plugs we already have in other areas. Both are impressive varieties, but the fact that I can drive 20 miles down to the farm and get it fresh cut off the field as I need it sure sounds awesome!

Transition to in progress. Unfortunately with the lot size and slope, I opted to leave the existing grass and weeds to help prevent erosion during heavy downpours. We’ll take care of that once the plugs get established and start to take over.
