The Montessori Movable Alphabet in action! There are so many great ways to teach a child how to form words, recognize letter patterns (CVC), identify commonalities in word formations, and understand how vowels affect words. It's a valuable tool for both school and home use!
The Lower Elementary students are refining their mathematical skills through focused practice with the Montessori Multiplication & Subtraction Charts. In Lower Elementary, Part 2 of our curriculum focused on learning about adjectives. We began with the Montessori Grammar Box, incorporating grammar symbols to construct sentences. Our lessons encompassed nouns and articles, followed by a stimulating class discussion centered around pets and the diverse adjectives used to describe them. Ms. Dina facilitated this session, illustrating two distinct pets, encouraging students to articulate their descriptions using various adjectives. Subsequently, each student independently created their pet drawing, which remained concealed from others. During the descriptive phase, students employed adjectives exclusively to depict their creations. A point was awarded if the class correctly guessed the pet based on the descriptions. Impressively, we accurately identified 9 out of 18 pets. The students exhibited remarkable proficiency in utilizing adjectives, and their artwork was truly delightful.
