Landscapes and nature photography in rural Queensland. Showcasing our natural landscapes and capturi
Well a year and a bit has passed and I finally got the camera back out of the bag! Two nice sunset pictures from the lovely display from nature last night!

And of course he didgeridoo that acompanied the photo taking adventure!
Well it is that time of the year where the storms roll in from the west on a hot and humid afternoon. Last night I took the opportunity to head to the lookout at Mount Perry and capture the ever evolving show that nature put on. Every time I went to get in the car and leave I had to turn around and setup again as the show just kept on coming. It was a lovely night spent capturing nature and playing some didgeridoo to invigorate the soul.
Well over the weekend I spent a night out camping with my good friend Shaun McGlinn at Lake Monduran Holiday Park. We met up with lovely group of like minded people on the look out for some UFO action with guidance from Australian UFO Sightings - AUFOS. Along the way I managed to capture a lovely sunset filled with smoke from the back burning out west. Highly recommend if you are in the area go and spend a night camping at this park, it has brilliant facilities for all to enjoy.

So in my spare time I have been learning didgeridoo or as it is traditionally known in North east Arnhem Land the Yidaki. And so I thought why not have a go at video editing. So check out my first attempt at throwing together a video. ✌️
Sunset Dreaming My first time playing with a mate on guitar and also first time editing video. So please enjoy and respect.
'Summer Sunsets'
Nothing beats a classic summer sunset.
'A Man among the Jacaranda's'
Finally I have been able to capture an image that can be easily identified as Mount Perry by all the locals! The unmistakable bright flowering Jacaranda's with the statue of the copper miner man can be found in the heart of Mount Perry. Right across the road from the Mount Perry General Store and Takeaway Where you can also find some of my prints available for purchase. Vella C Nathan and the team are doing a fantastic job supporting many local people with there products so pop in and check them out. They also make a fantastic cuppa!
'Simply callistemon'.
It is that time of year when the native bottlebrush is in full flower. And the stark contrast of bright reds on the grey stone background is simply sensational. Another Auburn Gorge beauty.
Well it has been sometime between posts. So here is some more Auburn river gorge goodness. This is the classic closing chapter of a brilliant weekend adventure. it was that last moment looking back at the gorge on the climb out and just stopping to take a moment. The amazing rock formation glowing in he background from the dark bushy track just really hit the spot. So please enjoy 'One Last Look'.
Well another weekend has passed and with it came another camping adventure to auburn River Gorge. This time around I was able to spend some time in the gorge during the golden hour. And I am so glad I did as the resulting photo's made it all worthwhile. So here is 'Natures Mirror' for you're viewing pleasure!
Wow it sure has been a minute or two between post's. But here is a picture from a recent trip to Auburn River Gorge. I have many more to follow in time so keep you're eyes peeled.

- Mount Perry Summit Hike -
On a quiet Sunday stroll up Mount Perry I captured a few nice compositions along the way. With some graceful models seeking the attention of the lens. I highly recommend the Mount Perry summit walk to anyone who is up for the adventure. Magical views are aplenty from the steep opening kilometre to the dizzying heights of the peak. Get out and get amongst the adventures of life!

- How’s the serenity -
On one of many photo hunting adventures in the local Mount Perry area I stumbled across this truly serene area. With the lone dead tree and the little watering hole bringing back memories of camping as a child and uttering around the campfire “How’s the serenity”.

-From leaves to galaxies -
With this capture accidentally incorporating a tree almost looking like it is projecting the galaxy out. Sometimes we have to accept the small mistakes in such a big universe.

- Misty Forest -
Sometimes you just have to follow nature's path to the misty light at the end of nature's tunnel.
Shot captured in the forest surrounding Mount Perry.

- Back In My Day -
In this outback Queensland shot I have attempted to recreate the look and feel of the black and white photography era. Back in my day when you had to take photographs and hope that they turn out well after you had them developed.

- Fallen Over Water -
This is the second shot in my Forest Series and was also taken in the forest surrounding Mount Perry. It shows the destructive side of nature in a truly beautiful way. A fallen tree bridging over the remaining water from our most recent downpour, and surrounded by pops of green leaves and bright red berries.

- Mystical Forest -
This shot is the first, of three, in my Forest Series and my first step into woodlands photography. Taken in the forest surrounding Mount Perry, these magical trees were begging to be captured. The winding vines and old branches that have seen unimaginable things, all come to life with the grey skies peaking through the leaves. For me, it feels like an eerie forest filled with stories and life beyond my wildest dreams.

- ISO 200 - f8.0 - 1/40sec
