A very sad news received today.

Our State Hero Comrade Gyamar Padang is no more among us. He was the first whistleblower who came forward and fought against the state's highest office, Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Paper Leak - Cash for Jobs Scams. Despite his prolong illness, he stood strong and never lowered his voice. He may be gone from this world, but will always be remembered by thousands of his followers and loved ones. My heartfelt condolences to Lt. Gyamar Padang entire family for the great loss.
May his Soul Rest in Peace.

I am surprised to know that the Union Law & Justice Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju has been involved in match fixing regarding the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Election. A Padma Shri and also an Arjuna Awardee Shri Bhaichung Bhutia a torchbearer of Indian Football was suppressed in the AIFF Election held recently. What if he was the President, then we could have seen a huge transformation in the Indian Football specially the North Eastern States. It was supposed to be 'Pure Football' but today we have witness that Politics has also gripped the freedom of football. I did not expected the former sports minister to go upto this level.
Bhaichung Bhutia is also the Son of North East therefore he should be given a chance just like the people of North East has given a chance to Shri Kiren Rijiju.

Walking for 4 days, the longest Peacefull Protest March from Seppa to Itanagar covering a total distance of 214 kilometer by Sol Dodum reminds me of Great Mahatma Gandhi famous Salt March which took him about 24 days covering 385 kilometer from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi on foot march as a direct action campaign of tax resistance and nonviolent protest against the British salt monopoly. It was on this day, the 28th of March in 1941, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose reached Berlin from Kolkata. He came here disguised as Orlando Mazzotta, an Italian diplomat. On 3rd April 1941, he visited the German Foreign Office in Berlin where Dr Ernst Woermann, the Under-Secretary of State, received him and listened carefully about the former's plan of establishing a government-in-exile. In Berlin, Bose founded 'Free India centre' and the members of the unit were Indian prisoners of War in Germany. He used the Berlin Radio, calling it the Azad Hind Radio, to broadcast about the cause of the freedom of India. Only Bose could do that!

To quote from the book 'Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: From Kabul to Battle of Imphal' by HN Pandit: "As in the thirties, Mussolini's government came forward more enthusiastically than the others to help Subhas. From Rome they sent to their Kabul Embassy a special courier named Orlando Mazzotta whose passport was to be used by Bose shortly afterwards when the courier was supposed to be on his return journey. His photograph on the passport was replaced by Bose’s picture and Bose became Mazzotta by shedding his Muslim name Mohammad Ziauddin, his Afghan clothing and a part of his beard and moustache now suitably trimmed to look Italian. Moscow kept one eye closed as Subhas was briefly lodged in a luxurious hotel there, but politely turned down his cautious overtures during that period for permission to stay on in the USSR."

THE WAR MUST BE STOPPED
The All India Forward Bloc expresses its grave concern on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. It is unfortunate that the entire leaders of the world have failed to circumvent the conflict though the preparations for the devastating war were visible since last October. Russia’s concerns about their national security are understandable. NATO has broken its promise to Russia that it would not admit Ukraine in their circle. But instead of keeping the promise it went ahead with threatening Russia and initiated the process of admitting Ukraine as a member. Therefore the unquenchable desire of Ukraine to join the NATO is the immediate provocation for this devastating war. In fact the Ukraine was tempted and trapped by the US and NATO.
The Indians particularly the students trapped in Ukraine must be repatriated safely as soon as possible. This must be the first priority of the government of India. It is reported that about 20000 students from India are trapped in different universities of Ukraine. India should use all possible diplomatic avenues to ensure the lives of its citizens.
The All India Forward Bloc urges upon the concerned leaders of the world to take immediate and adequate measures to put an end to this war. Hundreds of innocent people including women children have lost their lives for reasons other than their own. Thousands of people have lost their hard earned assets and livelihood. Except the arm traders of the world, the entire people of Ukraine and the people lives in the borders of Russia are the direct victims of this shattering war. The peace loving people of the world are also concerned with the current state of affairs in this region. The United Nations should ensure food and safety to the people of Ukraine.

Congress announces pre-poll alliance called Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance (MPSA) Six non-BJP parties - the Congress, CPI, CPI (M), Forward Block, RSP and JD (S) forms 'MPSA' MPSA leaders also launched 18-point common agenda of the alliance if they voted to power
A pre-poll alliance called Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance (MPSA) was formed in the state on Saturday by six non-BJP parties - the Congress, CPI, CPI (M), Forward Block, RSP and JD (S) for the February-March Assembly poll. The MPSA launched 18-point common agenda of the alliance. The alliance was announced at a press conference held jointly by the six political parties at the Congress Bhawan.

AICC election observer in charge of Manipur, Jairam Ramesh, former state chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Left parties representative Moirangthem Nara Singh attended the meeting.

The MPSA leaders said that they have agreed to implement a 18-point agenda if they voted to power in Manipur.

The agenda includes saving the territorial integrity of Manipur and historical boundaries of the state, to enact the right to free healthcare laws to benefit the people of Manipur, to provide unemployment allowance to the youths of the state, to preserve communal harmony in the state and to deliver economic justice by ensuring livelihood income to every family in Manipur, the leaders said.

The common agenda of the alliance also includes full implementation of Article 371 (c) of Indian Constitution.

Ramesh mentioned the 6 political parties in the alliance, "Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance(MPSA) of Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Forward Bloc, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Janata Dal (Secular) was launched today with 18-point Common Agenda."

"We will have a 3D approach--determination, dedication and discipline--to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party and form a new government to protect democracy, diversity and Constitution," he tweeted.

The agenda also includes promises like, "universal access to safe drinking water and uninterrupted power supply, fight against drug menace by implementing the law without fear or favour and fulfil democratic aspirations of all regions," among others.

Polling for the 60-member Manipur Assembly will be held in two phases - February 27 and March 3. Votes will be counted on March 10.

Granite statue of to be installed at India Gate in August

The statue of will be installed at the in what marks a fitting recognition of the legendary freedom fighter who had captivated the country with his determination to liberate it from British occupation.

PM Narendra Modi on Friday announced that he will unveil a Hologram statue of Bose, Netaji to legions of his admirers, at the India Gate on his birthday on January 23 evening.

The statue made of Z black granite from Telangana will be placed at the Canopy at India Gate in August this year, TOI has learnt.

“At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at the India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him,” Modi tweeted tagging the model of the statue.

The visitors will be able to see the Hologram statue only at night. Once installed, the grand statue will be clearly visible from the .

| The Manipur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Brinda Thounaojam is all set to contest into forthcoming Assembly polls from the Yaiskul constituency in Imphal.

The Assembly elections will be conducted next year, i.e., in 2022.

Thounaojam asserted that the decision has been undertaken due to constant ‘political interference’, which did not allow to discharge her duties properly at the executive level. She further added that her decision will change the current political system, thereby empowering youths and marginalized people.

Although Brinda is yet to announce the party she is joining, but rumors state that she might choose Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Th. Brinda became the first police officer from the Manipur narcotics division to have received a gallantry award.

She came to the limelight after detaining the chairman of the Autonomous District Council of Chandel district, Loukhoshei Zou.

The security forces have arrested Zou with a huge quantity of drugs some months ago from his Imphal residence. This move earned her the gallantry award from Manipur Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh.

But later, Thounaojam returned her award, adding that she don’t deserve the certificate as Zou was proved innocent, and that this award should be given to someone who is ‘more deserving and loyal’.

According to Kanailal Basu’s book 'Netaji: Rediscovered', the Azad Hind Bank was formed in Rangoon (now Yangon) in Burma (now Myanmar) in April 1944 for the purpose of organising funds to finance the war effort against the British. The bank printed Indian currency notes and managed contributions from Indians from across the world.

In the 1980s, Ram Kishore Dubey, a retired contractor with the State Irrigation Department, discovered one of these note in his grandfather’s Ramayana book, but did not realise its historical significance till later.

“My grandfather, Praagilal, worked for Netaji in the Azaad Hind Fauj and passed away in 1958,” says Dubey.

“He used to stay away from the family for months on end working covertly for the INA [Indian National Army] in the Bundelkhand region on a recruitment drive for its Jhansi ki Rani Regiment, led by Lakshmi Swaminathan. He gave up his land for the cause of the army and so Netaji rewarded him with this note promising him the amount in independent India.”

The currency found by Dubey, of denomination one lakh, had a photograph of Bose on the left side and a pre-independence map of the Indian territory with the inscription “ swatantra bharat” in Hindi on the other. In the middle were inscribed the words “ Jai Hind” in English, with the words “I promise to pay the bearer the sum of one Lac” below it.

On the top of the note was a series of flags of the Azad Hind Fauj over a bold inscription saying “Bank of Independence” with “good wishes” inscribed at the bottom.
