The History of St Bernard's School
When the parish of Mt. Gravatt grew too big, Father Rosenskjar planned the new parish of St. Bernard’s in 1953. It really became a separate Parish when Father Aspinall was appointed Parish Priest in 1969. St Bernard’s School was opened in 1953 by the Sisters of St. Joseph. The first Principal was Sister Juliana, a remarkable woman. She was followed by Sister Catherine, Sister Amata. The Parish Hall was the first building erected in 1953. It served as classrooms and a Church. Mr Jack Tierney built many early buildings. In 1953,120 students were enrolled.

History of St Joseph's Catholic Girls High School, Holland Park
In 1964 a high school for girls known as St Joseph’s opened in the grounds of St Joachim's primary school at Holland Park with 93 girls under the guidance of Sr Margaret Mary Campbell (first Principal) and Sr Pius Cassidy. Sr Mary Rose came to Holland Park to teach Years 9 and 10 in 1965. St Joseph’s secondary school moved to Klumpp Road in November, 1970 and was renamed MacKillop College. It opened in 1971 behind Clairvaux College (a college for boys), Sister Margaret Mary Campbell was the first Principal. In late 1984, a decision was made to amalgamate the two schools. The college names were retained, It now goes by the name Clairvaux McKillop College and is a co-ed Catholic Secondary College

Year 1 St Bernards we think. Terry Boneham is uncertain as only some of the children were in uniform.
