Checklist of things to sort out when you change cities in the UK for a new job
1. Mail forwarding - https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/redirection
2. Council tax - Fill a form on your local council website and inform them that you are leaving. Apply for council tax in your new city
3. BMA if you have one.
4. Inform your current internet provider, water, electricity at least 2 weeks in advance that you are changing your home address. And TV licence
5. Inform your bank and credit card people of address change
6. Change your details on your GMC account
7. Change your address on your car registration docs (V5C) - You have to post it to the DVLA after writing your new address in it. https://www.gov.uk/change-name-address-v5c
8. Change your address on your UK drivers license

9. Take pics of the gas, electricity meter readings on the last day and email the company on last day of shifting and inform them that you are leaving. Take picture and video for the house.
10. Register with your new GP and dentist
11. Change the designated body in your GMC profile
12. Inform HMRC of your change of address ( after changing the address)

13. Fill in your TIER 2 reporting form (Which you may have received with your new COS) and mention your new address in it. Email it to the tier 2 team in HEE. If you have not received such a form, email the tier 2 HEE team anyway informing them of your change in circumstances.

25. Link your rent and regular expenses to the credit card and credit score tracking websites to increase your credit score, make sure not to have any credit card overdrafts, pay your debts regularly
26. Get a wallet that can protect the credit cards from being scanned and stolen (RFD)
27. Get accounts for Amazon, eBay, uber eats, spearhead, just eat,delivero ,uber and etc
28. Register to a local gym and go 😃
29. If you interested in football or cricket , golf , take your friends or colleagues and go
30. If you prefer to go to restaurants or local coffee shops ;make sure to meet friends one weekly
31. Walk for 1 hour a day or you will gain wait or depression !
32. Call your family every day
33. Get a locker at the hospital and your scrubs from them
34. Make a topcash back account to save some money it is free
35. Make a blue light card , it is 6 £ and have a a good offers
36. Do not forget Christmas and black Friday offers
37. Learn how to use compare websites extensively (go compare ,money supermarket ,uswitch ,confused )
38. Apply for relocation fees
39. Check the local policy to claim travel mileages of you have to travel for work or do home visits
40. Search for a car (search on auto trader )or local garages
41. Check the cheaper fuel prices : down petrol prices
42. Check the local car accessory shops as Halfords and euro car parts
43. Apply for tax refund every year for your job related expenses if you were not been paid for them(so you keep a list for the expenses to claim at the end : GMC ,Royal collage ,MDU ,MDDUS ,courses ,travel ,accommodation and eating while having the course , working from home etc
44. Claim days in lieu for working in bank holiday in locum holidays or if you had to working in your off days
45. Register with the locum bank to do some locums in the free time
46. Register with hot UK deals website for offers and use it wisely :D
47. Report your next for Kin`s name to your GP and your employer
48. Make sure to save emergency contacts 999 /111 for your self and your family members
49. Make sure to save emergency contacts of close friends and family members for yourself and your family members so you are able to contact someone in need.

What you need to do when arriving in the UK :
1. Get a sim card with a good offer , and compare between offers using switch application by your place postcode
2. Brp collection for yourself and your family members
3. Contact hr as soon as possible
4. contact the head of your department ,your colleagues in the department especially from your home country
5. Sign the contract
6. Get your contract copy
7. Get 5 copies of a letter addressed to whom may concern to ( with and without the salary shown on them ) you would need them for different reasons to to apply for bank account,rent a place ,Amazon, driving license, renew your leave with your previous employer ( as in your home country so do not give them one with your salary 😃) make sure these letter contain your full name ,dob ,passport number ,length and dates of your contact and or salary and or brp numbers
8. Get your formal email NHS mail from the hospital IT
9. Get your acceses to esr ,elfh ,open Athens, up to date ,bnf ,induction, Horus portfolio and all available free Educational resources
10. Get your NHS smart card for an access to the patient`s GP records while your are doing word round
11. Get an access to the local trust intranet for protocols and forms
12. Get an educational and clinical supervisors
13. Get a good comfortable place to live it yourself and your family
14. Get a bike if it is easy for your to drive a bike and the road is quite good ,flat and has no marked geographical landmarks not so steep for example ;get cheaper one on market place
15. Find the nearest Masjid or church if your are not Muslim it will give you a good spiritual support
16. Find nearest halal groceries and restaurants
17. Find nearest ASDA , ALDI , Tesco , LIDL etc
18. Find the hospital library and get a card for it
19. Find the hospital cafeteria
20. Find the resources room in the hospital
21. Apply for provisional license as soon as you get your brp and start practicing on the UK roads (the most important thing to do )
22. Don't forget to register with a police if still applies to your visa
23. Get an online bank account and cards and use them instead of the main bank account to put some money in it to spend it for shopping and going out not to go with you main bank account for your safety
24. Start building your credit card : there are free websites as Experian

هذا البوست مجمع من عده مصادر وانا فقط حاولت جعلهم في بوست واحد.

What you need to do before coming to the UK :
1. COS and maintenance ticked
2. Come alone 1st before bringing your family
3. Book ticked quite in advance to save good money, avoid school holiday time and weekends
4. contact HR for the arrangement of Occupational heath , accommodation ,rota and induction
5. get to know the area you are relocation too
6. Ask about the relocation fees and policy
7. check the post code of the hospital for the surrounding facilities including halal restaurants bakeries ,butchers ,masjids ,churches ,local community centres ,supermarkets , local shops ,Argos , curry town centre malls ,pharmacies ,Gyms ,swimming pools ,post offices crime rates
8. check the post code of the hospital for the surrounding accommodation : on Zoopla and Rightmove ;house and flat renting and paying rates
9. bag your luggage with all the necessary staff you need : clothes (before you find your favourites stores ),foot wear ,regular medications (before registering to a GP and get a monthly prescription card to save money if you need a monthly or regular prescription , shaver, laptop , phone , cash money until you make a bank account and being paid your salary , phone charger , power bank
10. bring your international driving license
11. Bring the GMC ID appointment documents
12. Book airport taxi(compare different prices ) or check the transportation from the airport to home or ask a friend to pick you up
13. Get your immunization records or any medical records for the occupational health and GP check-in
14. Get your children's paperwork to join a school and their medical health records and immunization booklets or records
15. Make sure to save emergency contacts in a small piece of paper or booklet in your travel bag of close friends and family members for yourself and your family members so you are able to contact someone in need (if your phone was dead so you can find someone to speak to or get help )
16. Photocopy of the important papers and passport in case of emergencies
