Amherst Third Grade
Welcome to our third grade page!
We had such a great first week together! Go through these pictures with your kiddos and ask them what it is they were working on. They will be so excited to share with you! đ
We had a great first day of third grade!
We finished our year with a kickball tournament with the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders which I didnât get any pictures of. Oops! We left with several tears and lots of hugs, but everyone is excited for summer. I look forward to running into all of these kids this summer and cheering them on in all they do next year. â¤ď¸đĽš
We had so much fun at our 100% AR Party. The weather turned out to be great, and The Big Apple was a blast.
We had a great âYes Dayâ yesterday. We made it through their whole list of all the things they wanted me to say yes to. It was great to see them just enjoy each other especially this close to the end of the year. â¤ď¸
It was a beautiful day for field day! Everyone had a great day!
We had a great field trip today!
The third graders loved the petting zoo that the FFA put on. It was a beautiful morning for it. Thank you Amherst FFA for all of the work you put into this event!
Our spring concert with some of the best pirates!
We started our morning off with a dance party to celebrate how great the third graders did on their reading state test. They blew it out of the water! Iâm so proud of them! They have some serious moves! I didnât get the camera up fast enough for all of the break dancing, the worm, and hand stands! Great job, third grade!!
Loved their build today. đĽ°
Look at all of those third graders!
We had a great time at our field trip today. The kids were complimented at almost every station for how well mannered and well behaved they were. They represented Amherst so well! It was a great day!
We had a great time viewing the partial solar eclipse at the football field today.
The third graders have been participating in a March Madness reading challenge. Last week as class they read 4,477 minutes! Check out our bracket below to see which team advanced to the next round, and how many minutes they read!
We had some more third graders make their end of the year AR goal in February. Great job reading!
This week those that earned Big Red Tickets in the month of February got to celebrate by participating in a scavenger hunt around the school with some of the junior class. They had so much fun!
We have had several more students make their end of the year AR goal. I forgot to post last months, so here is the month of December and January so far. Good job, third graders!
Les and Hailyn participated in our school spelling bee last week. They were very brave getting up in front of everybody, and did a great job! We are very proud of you!
Congratulations to the students that earned big red tickets in the month of December. Keep working hard. We are proud of you!
We had such a fun Christmas party yesterday.
We were able to rescue Rudolph, and found out it was Gingy the Gingerbread Man that had him. We laughed and laughed while playing reindeer ring toss. We also did a Grinch directed draw; their drawings were impressive! We concluded our day watching The Grinch in the new gym with some popcorn. Thank you all that provided games and treats to make our party a success. We appreciate it!!
Merry Christmas! đ
We showed up this morning and found out we had been âGrinchedâ! đ
We started the day out by reading âThe Grinch Who Stole Christmasâ. We decided we needed to help everybodyâs heart grow three sizes, so we wrote kind notes to all of our elementary friends and snuck through the hallway putting them on their lockers. We then tried to rescue Rudolph, but we havenât quite accomplished that yet. We still have some clues to solve. We finished up the day with Grinch juice, and the Grinch movie. We had lots of fun!
Today was a fun day in third grade! We had hot chocolate with the Grinch in our ugly sweaters, and the Kearney Dawn Rotary Club provided us with dictionaries. Oh, and our elf showed up. He couldnât stay away on ugly sweater day. Lots of excitement!
The third graders cleaned up so nice for the Christmas program tonight. They did a great job, and sang their hearts out! đ
