Josh Volchko became famous for his efforts cooling tensions in the cold war, as seen here where he waits patiently for President Reagan to finish writing down his gamertag before telling him this sick Kanye joke. With the 2023 Rubber City Comedy Festival in full pregame mode, we felt we should share an episode with this festival producer and akron comic.

Daniel P. Myers Myers breaks down on The Brown Petri Dish 💥
The highly anticipated 100th episode of Brown Petri Dish is out today with special guest Daniel P. Myers . We put a podcast out every week for 99 weeks and we decided for the 100th episode we deserved a break (or I had too much fun having two weeks off of work to edit and release a podcast last week 🤷🏻♂️). We answered some of your questions about Daniel, talked about some news(from two weeks ago when we recorded it), and talked about the legendary Sam Kinison. This was originally just something we started out of pandemic boredom and it's become a pretty great thing. Thanks to all of you who have listened to Brandon and I talk for over 100 hours. We appreciate all 20 of you. Available anywhere you get podcast or by clicking the link.

Episode 100!!! w/ Daniel Meyers by Brown Petri Dish Find out if Daniel eats or drinks, how he gets from place to place, and what annoys him about comedians on the 100th episode of Brown Petri Dish! Yea, it's a week late but we figured we deserved a break after releasing 99 straight.
It's late but it's here. It's really short but we at least didn't miss a week because of covid.

Our Rubber City Comedy Festival month on the Brown Petri Dish podcast continues today with Josh Volchko . He's a great comic and a good friend that we've been wanting to have on since the beginning and we finally got together to do an episode. We talked a lot about the festival, got into some news from the week, and finished with talking about early 2000s comedy central presents and how it's influence. Today's episode kicks off our series of episodes leading up to the Rubber City Comedy Festival with comedian Kyle Haunhorst who is the co-producer of both the RCCF and the Cleveland Comedy Festival. We talked about the ins and outs of running a festival. Including how it came together, what festival producers are looking for in submission tapes, and the difficulty of sending out rejection letters. I(John) myself have gotten rejected from several and it sucks. If you've ever wondered why you didn't get into a festival or want some things you can do to help your chances, this is the episode for you. Today on the pod we had Joan Perkins. She's someone who's just getting back into comedy after taking off for the pandemic. She's a funny lady who had what I would call an unorthodox childhood. We talked about what it's like trying to reestablish yourself in comedy, the news, and comedy records. Available anywhere you get podcast.

Today's episode is with Jeremy Sheer. We talked about choosing your path in comedy if you have multiple interests within the comedy realm. We did a little Ukraine news, some dumb news, and a spur of the moment segment called "how long can I listen to Tucker Carlson talk". Jeremy's comedian was the great Don Rickles. It was a great time.
