On December 6, 2023, two significant events with the theme "Substance Abuse and Its Consequences" and "Understanding HIV: AIDS, Its Impact on Health and Society" were successfully concluded.

The Medical, Dental, and Disability Services organized a discussion at the first event, which was organized in conjunction with CapSU Pontevedra Red Cross Youth. The RHU staff, in partnership with the Kataw Organization, offered free HIV testing to all students, professors, and staff at the second event.

As we delve deeply into these important issues through these activities, we show how to attain understanding, encouragement, and a sense of empathy. Knowledge is our best line of defense against ignorance. Together, we can break the taboo, get rid of the guilt, and build an understanding and compassionate community.

On December 6, 2023, at the Campus Clinic, the Kataw Organization, in collaboration with Medical, Dental, and Disability Services and the invited Pontevedra Rural Health Unit Staff, will conduct and facilitate a free voluntary HIV screening for our interested students, faculty, and staff at Capsu Pontevedra.
