Opening SOON at Emagine Eagan 15 and Emagine Lakeville 21!
Next 4 Tuesdays - 8/13, 20, 27 & 9/3

I spend a fair amount of time just looking for other Christian films coming up, and reviewing film lists from various websites and other emails. Sometimes, like today, I still get blindsided. Opening in just 60 theaters, but I’m hoping that our Christian Movie Central followers can help the CMC cities showing the film give it an extra boost!

A Carpenter's Prayer tells the inspiring true story of a pastor and his family who set out to build a new church in 1970s rural Michigan. Along the way, they face challenges that threaten to unravel everything when an afflicted carpenter becomes their unlikely source of hope, proving that faith in God is the true path to redemption, even in the most tragic circumstances.

There is at least one upcoming opportunity, possibly more, for Pastors and Christian Leaders to view an advanced screening of a film(s) in the coming weeks.

We cannot share this as a general post to all, so invite Pastors & Christian Leaders (churches, ministries/non-profits, media, business) to sign up for our Pastors & Leaders Email List.

Sign up for the Pastors / Leaders list at
https://richgerberding.ck.page/cmcnatlead

Please note that while we do not "police" our email list for qualifications, signing up for our email does NOT automatically mean you will quality for all film opportunities, which are hosted by individual films/marketing teams, and may vary film by film.

Rest assured, when the film(s) come out later in the year, you'll be hearing about it here!

One of the most eagerly awaited films of the late spring early fall is the story of the Smallbone family – Rebecca St James (ever wonder why isn’t her name Smallbone?) and King & Country brothers – as they go from riches to rags to riches from Australia to the United States, and how their faith and their mom kept the family together and moving forward.

When David Smallbone's successful music company collapses, he moves his family from Australia to the United States in search of a brighter future. With nothing more than their six children, their suitcases, and their love of music, David (for KING + COUNTRY's Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives from the ground up. Based on a remarkable true story, a mum's faith stands against all odds; and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs

We share films from various denominations, and don’t take sides or ignore based on the sources. We do, however, try to make sure that when a film is specifically about or from the perspective of a particular denomination that we share that fact.

The Hopeful is about how the faith struggle of a War of 1812 veteran set in motion what in time became the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

William Miller’s faith is in ruins. After miraculously surviving a fierce battle in the War of 1812, Miller questions why God spared him. His search for wisdom leads to an astonishing prophesy—the world is going to end. The Hopeful unfolds as a story of a man burdened with the knowledge of Christ’s return. Miller’s message resonates with some—even as it is scorned by others. When a young woman named Ellen Harmon listens to one of his sermons she is transformed. And through her witness the message begins to take hold. Her preaching grows beyond prophecy and develops into a more holistic vision for how Christians should live and worship. We see blossoming the seeds of a new global movement of faith—the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Hopeful is the true story of a community whose lives were transformed as they learn what it means to truly wait for Jesus. This sweeping drama, set in 19th century New England, invites audiences of all ages to imagine how hope can change the world.

When people think about the Jewish people being helped during World War II in Europe, many people only think of Corrie ten Boom, but there were others, and Irena Gut is an incredible one. Imagine choosing to hide Jewish people from the N***s not in your own home….but in the basement of a German officer’s own home, through N**i parties upstairs, a blackmail scheme, and the birth of a child!

It is rated R for brief sexuality / some strong violence. I watched the film several weeks ago, and while I don’t disagree with the R rating based on a couple brief violent scenes (one easy to see coming, one less so), I would say the rating is far more based on those than the ‘brief sexuality’ content. Feel free to write me if you’d like to get more detail on any of these scenes that I recall. Thank you.
